tash, it doesn't matter what some people will say about the project, whether it's pants or not really depends on you. oh and don't get sucked in by responding to negative posts, they are opinions which you can choose to ignore.
once again good luck.

+1 to rocksteady.
In fact, I would edit the last post of yours, as you don't really need to defend yourself, it isn't that helpful.I would just PM the people that said they were interested and go from there.

oh and @ Nhatt, i'd initially put this in the women's subforum as it's important and very necessary that the magazine have a female voice without necessarily being 'for women', if you get my drift any more than before? not that i don't want any blokes contributing, but the subtle differences between women and men can make a huge difference to the editorial tone of a magazine (in my opinion), i just wanted to ensure the balance was right for what i want the end result to be. and yes yes yes to illustration stuffs :)

hey tash
drop me a PM it sounds good

cool, Tash, I won't move it to general or close the thread as long as it stays in this tone.
I'd like to see how in real terms your idea is different from Cog and Fixed, but I'm more in the waiting and seeing camp.
In any case, it's nice to have projects.

- Although I never would dream of discouraging men from posting in the ladies forum, I get a wee bit uncomfortable when a thread is mostly men posting.
Well either you do want to discourage us or you don't Nhatt. If the comments are on topic and not sexist/misogynist then I thought the idea was that this forum was open to men who had something they wanted to say? You can't say it is not meant to exclude men and then get uncomfortable when men take you at your word.

Fuck this. I didn't even realise it was in the ladies forum until just now. It pops up in my 'today's posts' feed.

Nhatt, I can provide this, should you require a scapegoat.

No, Paxman's.
What was UP with Paxman tonight?

twitter page was too busy, something with EDL or EDF

right...i have been biting my tongue but cant do it anymore. All i did was state my opinion. It might not have been flowered up to some of your liking, but hey...if i dont agree with something or think something is a bit pants i will say just that.
I have not called anyone a cunt, tosser or any other name on during this exchange yet I am the one that is being told i will be banned. Tash seems pretty capable of fighting her own battles so all you macho men jumping in to defend her honour or whatever are simply adding fuel to the fire. Sorry girls for this taking over your forum...its turned into guys getting their cocks out. Like many i didnt realise this was the 'womens' section.
I still stand by my initial comments, but all i wanted to do is say my piece but people decided to have a bitch because my critisims were a bit direct...which of course I will respond to as I dont agree.
yes i have read my posts and I would write the same again.

Thanks Balki.
So Will, as I thought of an entertaining way to describe my position, I'll share it, but I'm surprised that you of all people don't understand the difference between ALL and SOME.
So, in the state's there is an organisation called the food and drug administration, or the FDA.
the FDA makes up rules like, as an example, how much rat shit can be found in a jar of olives before it's un-healthy and the olive manufacturers get shut down.
One turd per 30 bottles? Ok.
Two per 10? Still legal.
Three per 8? You are being shut down.I don't care if men want to post in the ladies forum, but either the thread doesn't belong here or there should be some some self moderation if a thread has become 80% replies by men.
If that doesn't make sense to you then I am once again happy to chat about this over a beer, but not over the internet.
PS, I don't know who Paxman is, but he definitly isn't a lady.

i just tucked my nob between my legs and pranced round the kitchen, no willy waving on my part.
and as for the wimen, they certainly don't need men to bitch about stuff for them they have been the equal of men in that respect for millennia.P.S. Paxman is a known pederast and that's a fact.

The idea that an editorial team of entirely woman is better then a mixed one based on that sole fact is laughable.
Also I don't think anyone has pointed out there is already a throughly terrible fixed gear culture magazine called "COG", I would reconsider the name based on that.
best of luck with the venture though, I hope you pay your staff well and remember that landlords and drug dealers don't trade for credit/ by lines so neither will serious or talented content producers.

"anybody who knows me on here knows my bike background, so i won't justify it to you"
I just wanted to know what background as the mag will have a focus on bikes. If you are writing about something its good to have experience in that field.

Dave, can you let it rest so I can go to bed? Actually, don't let it rest, maybe explaining what you object to with her original statement in a PM might bring about a good amount of defining the project for her, if that makes any sense.
Chris, why do I have the feeling that your arrival here means the beginning of the apcalypse?
And ffs Smyth, don't bleeding encourage him.

I've been your hero since your name had a P in it, don't think I didn't trace those love notes you left me in SE1
Chris, why do I have the feeling that your arrival here means the beginning of the apcalypse?
Probably the terrible suggestion that some one actually pay creatives, so they can pay their drug dealers will bring in some indignation from some of the people here whom aspire to create content for print but have never earned a living doing so.

Does it matter (is it important) what Tash's cycling credentials are?
Tash is making a go of something she believes will work. I have no idea if it will but hope that it will. If she wants submission from blokes I would like to throw my oar in. Tried getting articles on ladies gear reviews as that seems to be lacking in the press and in real world ladies sizes and shapes. But no of the cycling/style magazine editors got back to me.
Can make tea and supply cake and jelly, but look odd in a pinny. ;)

Ok guys, I think enough utter crap as been said here, that's it.
Tash will PM the interested people, you can PM her if you are interested and didn't get a chance to say it, but I think this has currently out lived it's usefulness.
I'm going to bed.
as i said in my initial reply, his point was taken into consideration as i'm sure that at this point not everybody gets the idea. and my needlessly defensive reply was indeed a response for his needlessly blunt comment, which was not asked for and laced with personal insinuations. he's allowed his opinion, i'm allowed my counteropinion, and to defend such a reckless comment. if redrum doesn't like the idea, that's his perogative innit. i think it's been proved though, that his opinion is not rooted in any kind of substance. he just doesn't like my idea, and i'm not about to try and convince him otherwise by explaining myself as he seems to want me to. and i don't need to, the idea is in progress and i'm sure i'll get over one person's rant. that's my last word on it in this thread, as comments such as these are the kinds that do need to be discussed but with the resultant ed team.
if you wanna help redrum (seriously now), pm me. cheers all!
