If all else fails, you can have them ship it to me, but I'm in Canada, so it would cost probably an additional $30 or so.

As said rayban and Olivers People have sold out, they are terrible quality and shit in general now.
Dita and Thom Browne are pairs that are have heavily invested in and the quality is insane compared to the Raybans I use to wear, plus they are a stack more fashionable.
Maybe I'm missing something but I always thought Ray Bans were fairly cheap* and that was part of there appeal. They look good, have nice lenses, and there are loads to choose from. They're not the be all and end all of quality but they survive knocks and don't immediately fall apart.
The Dita and Thom Browne glasses I've just googles don't seem to come in at less than £350 and most are closer to £500. Not really comparable IMO.
Also re weight I've got some 80s folding Carreras and the lenses weigh a ton which is actually a pita.
*£60-100 when I bought my last set.

Just been for my first eye test in maybe 38 years, ordered a Transitions Varifocal in these frames...

How do you find varifocals? They drive me nuts. Maybe because I had them fitted into fairly shallow frames.

Don't know yet EEI, have only had bi's so far...

So these frames came from my friend Rocco on Portobello...amazing collection of vintage frames and incredible bespoke acrylics at great prices...I'll post a link when he sets up his site.

No need for confessions.

I went to Boots and bought a pair of their £25 range (with lenses) as a back up as I broke a pair recently... The back up pair is now my main pair.

I'm eyeing up some clubmasters (no pun intended) but I'll be buggered if I'm paying 200£ for them.
Any respectable online stores? Glasses direct don't do raybans and their ones are shite (and say john Lennon on them) -

Classic clubmasters can be had for £135ish.
Personally i'm rocking these:

Did he ever get his website sorted out?

Im after a new set of specs, grown a bit tired of my wayfarers, after something more discreet/lightweight/less bulky but probably still retro
Any recommendations? I do not object to aviator style stuff, but cannot find any that dont look cheap and naff.
Would also consider 1930's style round specs.

Shuron do aviators; they're the originators of the browline style.

Any current recommendations for a cheap set of prescription glasses. I normally get mail order, but need them by a week friday.

I've got some old (prob 70s) Ray Ban aviators with wraparound stems, they were South African airforce issue I've been told.
I would like someone to take a look at them and fit them for me- does anyone know of somewhere that would provide that service? I think I need the nose pads moving and the stems balancing but I am far too clumsy and heavy handed to attempt it myself.

Isn't there a Ray-Ban store somewhere in London? There must be!

Went to sunglasses hut (listed on the Ray Bans website) and they were most unhelpful.
Also tried concessions in the big dept stores only to be looked at blankly by sales assistants.
Would an optician be an option? I've never had glasses but I assume that they take the time to fit the frames.

Yup, you'd be best off at a mom 'n' pop type place... My old mate used to have a vintage shop... He would've fixed them for you but he's moved the business to the USA...

One of my rayban wayfarer lenses cracked after I dropped them the other day. Any reccommendations on where to get them fixed? Tried contacting any of the "official resellers" of rayban and not had any luck. They are just subglasses, no prescription.
Cheers.

Is there anyway to get them to ship to the UK?
