  • what sort of notice is this matt? Pah, you'll probably not make it anyway. :)

  • what? me? no way.

  • Nope definitely not Cosmic Matt,

Baddesigner only plays once a week

you couldn't handle any more of me.

  • @chucklebruv - proper old school since '07, innit. the fixed archie is in the shed with the freewheel kona. it might make another appearance. we probably met in mancs already, i was at both the last years tourneys.

  • matt is the first person (and stelle) i met from the forum @ the 2007 bike polo tournament in dear old brick lane. What initially looked like a intimidating bunch, was washed away when he smiled and started to chat to me. Mathew the 'ice breaker' baddesigner.

  • I've never met Matt at polo but in 1996 I was in hospital in Aberdeen, laid up with gout. The pain was indescribable. One night I was lying there, unable to sleep, sweating and beginning to think that even death would be preferable to another day of big toe related misery.
Just then a young lad wandered in to my room. Small, tousle haired and with a cherubic grin. He spoke not a word. Rather he silently approached the bed and very gently touched my agonised toe. At once the pain vanished. Before I could even grasp what had happened the lad had vanished.
Many years later I was browsing this forum and saw a picture of Matt. I looked at that face, that hair and that grin. I realised straight away that I was looking at someone I had seen before. The man I was looking at had exposed himself to me on Platform 6 at Victoria station two years previously.
I never did find out what happened to the boy from the hospital.

  • Going to do my damndest to get to this.
My actual time in London this trip has been about 3 days so far so no weekends have been possible.
Hope to catch up with the LPC tonight.

If anyone can FIX me up with a bike for a few games that would be great.

Hassan - I have your dough.
Dave Hills - I have your angle grinder.

    JOL

  • A friend is moving in to my house tonight so I won't be able to hang about. I'll drop in to say goodbye though.
