Ha
I was doing PR for miss kittin and the Hacker (she is an old friend) mental groove records, international dj gigolo etc so feel slightly responsible for what turned into electrogash!

Let's get this party started right
Tune.
I met my doppelganger years ago at The Bomb in Nottingham. Our wandering, slack jaws mutually hit the floor. Couldn’t believe it. He was me and I was him.

I like miss kittin a lot. I think Jonny (Melton), who started nag, has since said he saw it as post-electroclash, which I'd kind of agree with. That word is a bit like 'fixie' for me..!
Didn't know you used to be a PR type by the way, you're not now right?

yep,
Fox- nice post, if you wanna get back in touch with these people,
souncloud and other mix places are full of people sharing their original mixes and recordings,
I believe it has opened up so many things to people that would have never heard the selections otherwise.
But yeah, theres a few fallen by the wayside that spring up in the memory,
guess we can be happy to remember the good times and still be happy and healthy.Might do that, would be a trip down memory lane. Yes definitely. My life these days is very boring and sensible by comparison, probably for the best really.

Ah, memories. Not a lot of people know this, but I used to be an electro club kid in 2002/3, I used to go out three or four times a week, normally during the week, get home at 4am, roll in to my temp job the next morning. Kept it up for quite a long time before burning out quite badly (who'd have thought three hours sleep and a load of cans four times a week would do that?).
I used to be at nag nag nag every week, I knew the people who ran it vaguely so used to get guest list and hang out backstage, other clubs too like kashpoint. At one point The Face did a big feature on 'electroclash' and half the people I knew were in it.
Met some proper famous people, but a really odd mix - Wolfgang Tillmans was there all the time, as was Dale Winton (?!) and the Pet Shop Boys, Cilla Black a few times (again ?!), Yoko Ono once, Marc Almond, crap loads more but it's all a bit of a haze now!
The problem was once I burnt out I didn't go to clubs any more, so I lost contact with nearly all my friends. Hardly keep in touch with anyone from those days. Friends you meet in the club stay in the club, in my experience.
The Ghetto was always the best gay club, when I first moved to london we used to go to The Cock almost every friday, still havent got round to checking ghetto east, I hope it hasn't changed.

Yeah I was about to say I thought it had gone bust. Moving it east was never going to work. Crossrail killed it but it had been in decline for a while I think.
It was, but what I liked about nag was all were welcome, as long as you made at least a bit of effort, and it wasn't just a gay club but an anything goes club. A lot of the people I knew weren't gay, they just loved it.
I've never been a fan of gay bars/clubs. I'd rather hang out with people I've got something in common with than people with the same sexuality. This used to be a bit controversial among some of my friends but the decline in gay bars/clubs in London speaks for itself about the way society has changed - for the better I reckon.

And that is precisely why it was the best "gay" club around. I generally dont do well with the gays, they're generally rubbish. In fact im probably the most homophobic gay you'll ever meet.
