• Think I'm just going to sell the front disc brake as I can't be bothered spending more time and money trying to make it work. Don't need the front anyway for the moment.

    The whole bike is nearly finished. Just waiting for the chain/chain tool/chain lube to be delivered, and need to tighten up the pedals, and that's it. Been a good learning experience putting it together, and have collected a handful of useful tools and bits which I'm sure I will use again.

    Photos of complete build and full spec in the next few days.

  • I had a go at bleeding the Hope M4 brakes today, and the back one seems to be fine, but one of the pistons on the front one seems to keep sticking out and not returning properly inside the caliper. Any ideas what the problem might be?

  • It is. I bled both brakes correctly, but they were second-hand and hadn't been used for a while. I think the front one especially needs the caliper taken apart and cleaned + seals replaced.
