Thanks for everyone who emailed me on parts, looks like between all of you I'll acquire most of the parts I need.
A couple of things I am still looking for:-
- Clamp on front break
- Wheel hubs
- Possibly a crankset though I think I will use the Dura Ace road crank I have lying around (not NJS obv but still keeping the build all Japanese)
- Clamp on front break

What 110mm hub options do I have? Was reading somewhere you can take the spacers of some 120mm hubs - is this true?

I have a clamp on front brake if you need it. Virtually new and unused.

Just go with Dura-Ace 7600 hubs, 110mm spaced.
They're reliable, you'll get them cheapish and it will match the rest, if you're doing it DA. :) -

I think he wants brakes. Araya Gold's are not machined, are they?

Am already getting some Araya Gold rims from Schnitter. It appears you can use brakes on those rims. Hubs I am thinking Dia Compe as Tokyo Fixed Gear can order in the 110mm 36H variety.

Hurry and get the 110mm as Shimano just raised the prices on them. The English pound should not have an effect.
If you can get the 110mm kit, you can change the axle(s).
If yo do it the gheoo way is by shaving down the 120mm axles to fit the track ends and taking out some spacers to fit the frame.
I may still have 110 kits but my last 110mm DA hubs are built for the UNO.
DA 36 holes to Campy Lambda , DT 14 gauge spokes.
Araya are not machined. They do have the clincher version Araya 540 of the Gold.

Bought a Gran Compe front hub because it's Japanese and also because they make a 110mm rear version but the axles are too thick for the forks. Is there any way I can change the axles? I know for the rear hub there is this kit

you can either filed the ends or the axles.
I would try axles first.
