Primark shoes
Are shoes made by children vegan? -
• #5403
Yes.
But I'm pretty sure they have a much better suply chain record than many other manufacturers. So I wouldn't worry.
Altho my 2p is decent 2nd hand leather is better than new plastic ones. But then leather isn't something I've ever worried about, so I'm a pretty shit barometer.

They don’t, they haven’t a clue about their supply chain. They outsource their responsibility to the murkiest sweatshops.
In addition they heavily contribute to textile waste which will s dumped and destroys natural habitats.Buying vegan shoes from Primark is like buying dolphin friendly tuna from Jimmy Saville

There's tons of nice tuxedo stuff on eBay.
If you know which size you are and have normal length arms and legs, something nice/not serious but appropriate should be doable for little money.
If you're as skinny as I was 20 years ago there still is a nice but scruffy 40s Harrods dinner jacket in my wardrobe if I haven't sold it at fleamarket? (That tells you I am definitely into clothes.)
Then get those and have a new pair of vegan docs that will outshine all other shoes?

I am not a suit person as not suitable for my life, but I'd probably do some stops at charity shops over the next months and try to find something I like wearing.
But then I have no ideas of dress code and would probably end up being mistaken for a waiter/the band leader. -

Any recommendations for a hoodie? Need something pretty heavy weight and long lasting. Should I look at the usual suspects Warehouse, Whitesville, Buzz Rickson?

Camber I believe is the l'etiquette readers choice. Or a vintage Champion Reverse weave.
Coincidentally if you're after red and size small I listed one on my vinted this morning https://www.vinted.co.uk/items/4473916629-vintage-red-champion-reverse-weave-hoody

Realised as I trawled my wardrobe for something smart to wear to a wedding recently that I don’t have any smartish trousers to wear with a jacket/blazer that aren’t jeans/ baggy chinos or straight up workwear
Any recommendations for smartish verging on dress trousers that fit the bill? enjoy corduroy, moleskin, but would like a couple of lighter/summer options as well. Thanks

Fatigue pants have become a lot more popular recently and can be dressed up and down.
I’d probably suggest a pair of smart classic fit stone chino’s as these car be worn with most jacket colour variations
Could also try a brushed cotton chino in a green, perhaps flat front so they’re a little more wearable for casual too

Will have a look at these.
I do not mind linen, but don’t own much/any -

These things are great and wore them most in-office days last summer. Shudda bought another pair when they were on sale. Will probably get a 2nd pair for this summer.
Or this seasons

Just get something with a decent rise, it’s low cut chinos that can look odd when worn with a formal jacket.
Higher rise and no belt/bottom shirt showing when the top button on jacket is fastened always looks smarter than ‘business casual' -

Give me the names of a couple of decent brands and I’ll have a look.

Unfortunately I’m not really up on who does higher rise but it’s likely to be traditional brands or those aimed at 35+ market, a Quick Look at Reiss shows they do a classic shape but as with a lot of brands the fit can to be too slim to hang well.
Plus I don’t buy clothes much as I have enough and a mate is a head cutter from The Row and now head of bespoke at a well known brand, he does MTM orders for shirts and suits a couple of times a year.
They are made in Italy/Portugal/China depending on price and being an odd shape I get a better fit. -

@cornelius_blackfoot assuming you want reasonably smart, I'd have a look at something like this article for inspiration

We get Ed Sheeran's disaster, Puerto Rico get Bad Bunny. I know some of you won't know who he is, but his style is a million times better than that sack of spuds above.

• #5423
Bad Bunny is a handsome man, which helps. And he loves his crocs. I’m a fan.

Bright coloured heavyweight tees?

Ed could be a handsome man if he put the effort in, but never this handsome...

As above Primark for shoes and try Next online for suit and shirt, click and collect works well if you’re awkward size like me.
