I think they’re milling the cloth thinner too, or the wool itself is lower quality. As discussed previously, there are better wool shirt options out there these days.

Is it, though, man?

Anyone got one of those McNair shirts?
They look really warm and hard wearing. Slim cut as well.

Pendleton was a knockoff of Cowichan sweaters.

I’m interested but it’s hard to wear out what I have right now.

Not really fashion, and probably better in the tailoring thread, but where is a good but inexpensive place to rent a DJ? Annoyingly my works xmas party is black tie.
I don't have the heart to even try mine on as I had it altered when I was in excellent shape, and the recent years have not been kind.
Something trad. none of this dark blue or velvet nonsense.

Buy it online and return it.

Even more reason not to go, surely?

Terrible patter.
Anyway what sort of work night out is it if your outfit is in a state to be returned afterwards? That's before you think about spending the night with the tags hanging down your neck.

They look great but not really a 'need' for me at the moment. TBF I have a couple of wool shirts Ive had for years that serve me well.

Who still has one of these shirts in their wardrobe?

Thanks for that. I've polished them, and stuck in insoles. Fit fine.

Quoting myself here
Torre Parka looks similar to mine - I looked at Canada Goose (owned one years ago but it was at least one, maybe two sizes too big, constantly pumped freezing air throughout!) and was interested in the Westmount because of the length and warmth but opted for the FF because it was rated warmer and seemed to shut the door on draughts. This has been born out so far, though it hasn’t been cold enough to really test it.
It’s a good morning to test out the FF

What are you wearing on your legs in these temps?
-
• #4596
Just long underwear (polartec in this case, nowhere near as good as my Stanfields and Icebreaker woolies) and canvas Bundeswehr trousers. Not great for standing around, but okay as long as I'm moving.

That’s Celsius, right?

Yep, F and C cross at -40°, so if it's colder than that I use Fahrenheit as it sounds more impressive : )

Had a blue one. Is that a weird filter or did they actually make green tops like that?
Innit. They are tripping on £335 for that gar barj. Nothing inherently wrong with made in China (and as always, China are world leaders in technical garment product) but given Pendleton are a brand that still plays up to their Oregonian heritage so much, I just think it sucks that it’s no longer Made in the US. I know they still mill their cloth here but shipping it to China, to then ship it back is also lame.
Only $249 here tho, so not aaaaas bad.
