Finisterre. The Kelson and Bosun which are wool blend, not tried the cotton or lighter weight ones.
Currently 3 for 2. Still not cheap but I have had a few pairs for a while and just bought some more.
The best socks are Dalhgren alpaca which I cleared out of TK-Maxx about 8 years ago and all of them are still hole free and certainly don’t look old, will have to wait until I go to the states until I can buy any more. -

HebTroCo's are made for them by the Bradford Sock Company, aren't they? I've had Bradford socks before, and was a bit disappointed - they went rather baggy after a couple of wears. OTOH they've held up ok since then, so maybe I just needed to size down.

London Sock Company socks are great. They’ve just started doing sport and thick walking socks.

All the sock talk I'm needing some all my long socks are shit. I've done a couple of tkmax experiments they have already gone baggy. I'm on a budget anyone struck gold in tkmax?

Community clothing socks like these have faired well. Decent pricing too.

Came across rototo socks IRL this week. They were really really nice. Expensive though. I also visited Ortega’s Weaving Shop in Chimayo, New Mexico and picked up this vest. Which I am very pleased with.

Strong look. Although I want to know what the rest of the sign says.

Ah, can’t tell you that I’m afraid. There were lots of hand written signs from kids on field trips. Here’s some bonus photos though.

So I’ve gone almost 11 months without buying new clothes or shoes (the exception is socks, running trainers and gym gear). I used to spend a lot on clothes and wanted to see how it would feel. Basically it’s been great. Worn stuff more, realised what I like and don’t.
Next thing is I need to eBay a ton of stuff I will literally never wear again. It’s also made me really think about anything I might want to buy. I will still look at clothes shops (not so much online) pick stuff up and try it on but if it doesn’t fit a hole in my wardrobe then down it goes. I would have used to just buy it mostly.
I’ve recently been looking for a black, mock neck jumper (for Christmas) and found this one in MHLSo I suppose that is 2 items this year a pair of jeans and a jumper (birthday and Xmas). I think I will carry on next year tbh.

Will you chuck some stuff up here? I am sure some of it will be of interest

It's liberating getting rid of stuff!
Over the past decade I've shifted most of the detritus of life. Started with records, then clothes, then books. Still have a lot of formal clothes that have been essentially unworn for nearly three years. Trying to figure out what one actually needs.
One black suit, one grey suit, one blue suit. Grey and blue blazers. Some white shirts and ties you actually like. Black and brown brogues. Black and brown loafers. It all feels like costume for a party that I'll never go to! -

I ended up buying a pair of Ralph Lauren 'double RL' Officer chinos from their store behind Carnaby St. Nice thick cotton twill, button fly and not too wide on the leg. No logos!
Your abstinence from buying is impressive, we've definitely curbed our frivolous spending but still slip into the trap of convincing ourselves we 'need' stuff. My problem is two sets of clothes, fat me and thin me, depending on what state of injury/depression/obsession I'm in.

Ah can’t beat a bit of RL
I really would recommend it - I told lots of people and that made me stick to it.
@revenant. that’s a good idea and preferable to eBay
@hurricane_run Totally - although I love my suits and getting a bit dressed up. I’ve also moved from T-shirt & trainers to shirt and shoes most days (dad mode enabled)
Afraid my sock game was so good two years ago that I've not bought any since! I went to a sample sale when I was still in New York and bought about ten pairs of Anonymousism socks for about $70. I haven't needed to buy any since.
Then my fuckabout socks are Kirkland Athletic Socks and Kirkland Merino Hiking socks, both from Costco and both very good for what they are.
