Let's have an argument about ties. Big and fat? Long and thin? Patterned? Plain? Tied tightly or loosely? Which knot?

long and thin, tied quite tight, but not too tight. no idea what knot i do, i get each side to the correct length and then loop it over twice, up and then through the knot.

Pretty surprised Hornets has not been mentioned so far on this thread (unless I missed it).
Perfect place to avail oneself of a 'used' bespoke Saville Row suit and then get it tailored by them to fit. Very interesting shop - they have a great quote on their website from Hardy Amis:
“A man should look as if he had bought his clothes with intelligence, put them on with care and then forgotten all about them.”
In response to the 1st suit that you should buy that was mentioned a few posts back, in my opinion it should be un-patterned, dark navy, 2 button, wool and well fitted. There are very few suit requiring situations where that won't suffice.

Next you'll be telling us Dylan Jones is a style icon

What, no chevrons?
I rate Gill highly personally - carries off his looks well, doesn't look like he's tried too hard - same can't be said for Jones.

there's always a time and place for a little seersucker
Sims & Macdonald on Lambs Conduit had two lovely ex-display handmade seersucker jackets in a 38 or 40 going very cheap.

Its good to see the "Rugged" trend done in a not totally boring way, but it took the French to do it

Neither shirt nor jacket fit correctly, and that tie's knot is an abomination.
