Cheers, looking for something a little heavier I think.

These worked great for me

Any recommendations for a warm, black bomber style jacket? Kind of classic styling without being too bulky would be ideal. It's mostly for cold weather dog walks so not looking to spend loads on something that's going to get covered in mud and dog snot anyway.
This is almost what I'm after and I can't quite put my finger on why it's not right. Never thought I'd sort of like anything from Superdry!

The Penfield Cirrus jacket might be OK. I don’t think they make them any more, but you could probably find one online.

That looks spot on actually! It's a bit more than I was looking to pay but I am tempted. I've never owned anything by Penfield, how's the quality?
Edit: got carried away and bought it anyway. Thanks for the suggestion!

Haha, I’ll claim my commission!

I used to love Penfield stuff, so snuggly, can't really get away with wearing it where I am!! 🔥

Same with your red wings

I know you're joking but I saved a bit of money with a discount code so will donate a tenner to either the forum or a charity of your choice! I haven't done anything nice for a while.

Just came across natalino (https://natalino.co/) on ig - does anyone own anything by them or have any knowledge of the quality?

Looks nice, I'm looking for something in the more robust category.
The stuff from https://www.aeroleatherclothing.com/products.php?cat=aerocloth appeals to me. -

Oh, it wasn’t related to your request (sorry)
For Shetland sweaters try allbluesco on Instagram - they do very nice harley’s sweaters. They don’t have an online shop but you can dm them to order and pay on PayPal. I got a nice green one for Christmas

I didn't think so, but I'm always interested in new wool options, thanks regardless.

+1 to the Harley shaggy dogs - I've bought a couple from All Blues Co., and though they're not particularly heavyweight, because of the fuzz they're really quite warm.
For properly heavyweight jumpers I've got a couple of Outdoor Knitwear submariners; they're the Leicester-based supplier of the real thing to the RN, and do contract manufacturing for other brands. Most of their stuff is utilitarian rather than stylish, but it's good VFM. I think at one point they manufactured for North Sea Clothing, who do stylish but pricey knitwear.

I’ve gotten one from Outdoor Knitwear before, didn’t quite get on with it. I think I was hoping for something thicker.
Got Harley bookmarked, but the hairiness puts me off a bit, snagfest waiting to happen IMV. -

Thanks for the link, some great knits in there. Funny how most of the raglan stuff is for women, but I guess the majority of them have narrower shoulders than the majority of men.
I have narrow shoulders, thus my preference. -

I've not found that to be a problem, but Harley offer their knits in a standard Shetland as well as a brushed finish.
Unless it's just being worn outdoors, I find anything thicker than a submariner needs to be a cardigan or easily removable. I've got a Black Sheep Knitwear shawl cardigan that's great; if their jumpers are equally heavyweight they'd deal with all but the very worst weather.

I use mine over merino undershirts in winter, which in turn are covered by my work jacket while on the job (driver) or an old Canadian army parka while out and about. I'll add a down-filled sweater if it's really cold.
I find wool sweaters on their own in moderate temps just let too much air through, I need a wind layer. -
• #3646
Ah, you're in chilly parts foreign, aren't you? Yeah, anything but the heaviest knits needs a wind-stopping layer of some kind.
-
• #3647
Indeed. I think I’ve checked out Black Sheep, but thanks for the reminder, will do again.

Like the looks of the Crew and the Smuggler, will investigate.

Seen those before, they look nice though not saddle/raglan sleeved.
tried em on, they're not particularly heavy, but lovely material and fit
