+1, don't do tan with a suit. Darker looks much better, I wouldn't go lighter than a chestnut - even that's a bit light but might be more versatile than a dark brown.

Thanks. They'll be £89 - 100% Irish linen, made in London. I'll let you know when they go on sale.

Just got one of these, hoo wee, it's a beauty alright!
Quality is high and haven't seen this thickness of flannel since my old Champion-made jack shirts. Just 15 or 20 times the price.
Maybe better in the selvedge thread, but it's a shirt :) -

We all got loakes for my wedding (me, my dad and brother) to go with the kilt, but they also work well with a nice rough wool/tweed suit etc.
Anyway suppose what kind of brogues you want? meermin are great but they look more of a 'sharp' look perhaps.
DJ is right though, get a classic look and they will last for years. I also think you might get them thinking you'll wear them once a year, and find yourself wearing them an awful lot more.

I bought a pair of grensons thinking that they were made in the UK.....mine weren't!
If you can travel up to here (Northampton) there are several factory shops. The Barkers one is good.....

This will be the last time I use this thread to promote my own brand, I promise. But, in case anyone is interested, our website is live and our first capsule line is on sale. Think of it as linen for London. Fire away if you have any questions. https://www.flaxlondon.com/

I like them a lot. Think you'll do a skinnier cut in the future though?

Looking good, what's the material weight, and how do they fit compared to SEH Kelly's shirts?
-
• #3036
I think we're planning on keeping this fit for the time being. Which is ever-so-slightly tapered through the torso, with no pleats on the back. Perhaps we've used the wrong terminology if you're associating 'relaxed' fit with a loose fit shirt. They're definitely not slim fit but also not blouse fit either.

looks like just the thing I was after, and what do you know, its my birthday at the end of the month....
-
• #3038
Material is 238gsm linen, from Northern Ireland (a classic linen shirt usually comes in around 175). We like (and take inspiration from) SEH Kelly but can't say I've ever worn one of their shirts. Based on the pics I would say pretty similar, maybe not quite as fitted. I'd say the fit is pretty similar to Oliver Spencer's standard shirts. If you'd like a size recommendation, let me know your measurements. :)

Happy days! Is there a certain someone I should send the launch email to for inspiration? Or would this be a present to yourself?
-
• #3040
Its for myself I think, I may pass it off to my family if they are short of ideas. I just need a nice linen suit to go with it now.

Is triple linen a thing, like double denim?

I aspire for this level of excellence

Awesome. There are only about 40 left (of 90), just FYI. No pressure, obviously.

I bet that sleeve is just a trouser leg stitched on, no alterations

Tempted but spent all my fun money this month. When will you restock?
-
• #3046
We will be re-stocking in April/May time. We have a Syrian refugee based in Gloucester who's taking on the manufacturing. He's fantastic quality-wise, but as there's only one of him timelines aren't concrete.

That could be something to do a feature on for the website? Great thing to do either way
I'll hold fire then, could you please pm or post here when you restock?

For sure. When we know exactly what the set up will be etc. I'll let you know when we've replenished our stock! There'll be a short sleeve smock option at that point too.

Seeing this photo prompted me to put tweed or heavy wool trousers on the wish list.
Any suggestions? I don’t need the best of the best, just reasonable quality and good value.
I’m trying to avoid current pit falls of either short legs, very narrow leg openings, low waist or a combination of thereof. Thanks
