  • Have you looked at Armor-Lux for peacoats?
    http://www.armorlux.com/fr/13-vestes-manteaux-homme

  • Anyone know of a reasonably priced tailors or shop that do alterations who could do same day alterations? I have a jacket with sleeves with working buttons that are slightly too long which I've never worn and is beginning to feel a bit tight around the shoulders and chest and would like to get to wear it for at least saturday's birthday meal

  • Dug out my favourite merino sweater last night and moths been at it, got a few holes on the arms, some bigger than others. What's the best way to mend it? Myself with some sewing thread in same colour, or leave it to someone? Anyone know somewhere good?

I've had a lovely merino folk sweater repaired expertly at British Invisible Mending on Thayer St.
    But it wasn't cheap.

  • great tip, thanks!

If you don't mind me asking, how much was it? It's a nice sweater so keen to have done properly

  • Finding this very inspirational right now

  • solid

  • cheaper and authentic alternative: http://www.silvermans.co.uk/tabid/62/MILITARY/JACKETS+SMOCKS/USA+NAVY+PEA+COAT/0/SKU/4-175-10756-1581/Default.aspx

It's faux-authentic. One arrived today, dark navy apparently but it's pretty much black. Unsure on whether I like it or not.

  • did anybody go to dover street market/cardboard city or APC in the truman building over the weekend?
    what did you find?

  • APC - According to sources:

It was so shit. Queue going 100 long 15 mins before it opened for a tiny room. Would have been worthwhile if you were at the very start but it wasn't overstock - just cynical marketing hype

    glad I didn't bother.

I hit APC surplus in Paris 2 weeks ago, everything in it is 50% off. Was decent and new stock comes in each day.

  • I had a premonition the APC sale was going to be shit, mostly because of its proximity to brick lane.

  • I heard the CDG was all very avant guard, mostly unwearble, but that may have just been a friend being kind as I couldn't make it

  • it wasnt overly avant garde. there were some very wearable things there. quite a few of the kimmel colaboration pieces, carhartt collaboration pieces, t shirts, nice footwear and trainers. loads of it.

i bought a pair of junya watanabe/levis - started off life on the designers table size 44 waist then had seams added and a nip and tuck here and there to reduce them down to 34 waist. £20.00

  • APC is shit

    The French Reiss

  • It was the French Ted Baker the other week. Make up your mind. Probably can't expect much decisiveness though given you're now into NB and Saucony.

  • He even claims to follow everton. Good luck

  • Went to this today

Had to queue for quite a while but there's some really good stuff in there, and the YMC stuff is really well discounted (I got a silk blouse I saw on the website for £220 a few months ago for £40) the Folk stuff not so much

LOADS of jumpers, coats and jackets too. Got a colourful 100% Geelong lambswool jumper that I am certainly going to live in for the rest of winter.

  • ^ the Our Legacy stuff was by far the best.

  • I'll head down tomorrow early doors.

Had a good haul at the Dover St one last weekend.

  • Our legacy shirt, Folk belt, Ymc jumper and jacket.

was ok - got in the first wave

  • 40% off the margiela f/w collection online with the offer code UKCONFIDENTIAL40

  • ^ the Our Legacy stuff was by far the best.

Really? I thought they only had the very worst stuff from the collection there. But then I got there late.
