Disappearing cash machines have been a long-term problem in Glasgow. Thoughts?

  • Found my dream wallet in M&S last year, black, leather, deep purple lining, large pocket for notes, large change holder, 5 holders for cards, BOOM, no mess.

Can't be doing with millions of card holders I'll never need and tiny change holders (of which I always have loads).

  • Changeholder?! You've bought a purse.

Change in pockets - notes & cards in wallet - werthers originals in bin.

  • I want my entire 'payment rig' to be confined to one compact place, so it can easily be chucked between my jacket, my bike bag, etc

I don't use my pockets, ruins my silhouette

  • Change in your wallet snaps and bends your credit cards.

    But this is true.
Unless is a phone, in the jeans front pocket, dressed to the left.

unless your card section is reinforced like mine.

    But this is true.

    left?

  • unless your card section is reinforced like mine.

    left?

Dressed to right, phone in right pocket (set to vibrate)...

My boney arse breaks my credit cards without the help of loose change.

  • I need a tie for a wedding and I've looked around the shops and they're nearly all total shit. I have a nice brown Drake's knitted tie but I want something more colourful. Meanwhile, I have a really nice piece of fabric knocking about and I thought I could make one myself out of it?

Is making a tie hard to do? It seems like it ought to be easy but there's probably more to it than meets the eye. How long would a tie need to be? If I take the fabric to a tailor, will he/she make it for me for a fee?

  • Poor Dalston has suffered a lot in the last few years.

Read in context of the discussion and knowing Oliver, I found this absolutely hilarious.

  • Jfold wallets are nice if you can find them on sale.

  • Anyone done this? Anyone with any first-hand knowledge?

  • i have along time ago. it wasn't easy. if memory serves correct, i think my problem was not using the correct interfacing and not paying attention to the symetry of the larger of the two points.

  • and ties are cut on the bias so you waste a fair bit of fabric.

  • Fucking hell new VMan...

  • Got a lovely jacket from Baracuta, they give you the option of buying a Made in England version for a bit of extra money, nice touch.

  • *Vests, once the preserve of office middle managers and overweight Dads on holiday, have undergone quite the transformation over recent years – and my goodness this might help further. With our pals at ASOS, we have commissioned five of our favourite designers to produce five brilliant new designs for these limited-edition vests.

As with our successful previous collaborations with ASOS, this project promises to bring together top quality design and eye-catching gear to create something really special.

Our go-to guys for this were Jack Featherstone, La Boca, Siggi Eggertsson, Hvass & Hannibal and Christopher Gray and as you can see from the pictures they have all brought their own style to bears on these funky armless little numbers.

And everyone who buys a vest not only gets a set of bike stickers, but also gets entered into a draw to win one of five exclusive Foffa fixed wheel bikes, designed by the artists. Wowsers.*

  • a forffa bike AND a vest?!

    WOWSERS!!!!!!!!!1!

  • Got a lovely jacket from Baracuta.

    Which one?

  • Which one?

G9 of course, but I quite fancy the cashmere/wool version for Winter, £65 down from £150.

  • Don't tell me you went for the newer slim-fit G9...

    Colour?

  • Black, natch, like my soul.

  • what makes a bike "exclusive".
