Gave Neil the four pieces of various rods today at Polo.

  • In the UK, flying drone delivers food to restaurant tables....maybe not with my flying skills. YO! Sushi has developed the iTray, a flying robot that enables restaurants to send food to diners’ tables.

  • Lucas I have to say the video footage looks good , but I think your going to have to fly a little lower . and to say that only worries me when i'm underneath it . Besides my little bikes look tiny on that footage.
    :-)

  • PSA: Exposed freewheels need to be removed for the London Open.

  • does anyone have a flipflop? I recall you, danlj. maybe mya?

  • Fin! I'll bring that brake to Tool Club for ya. Can you bring me a mallet shaft and a head?

  • Shall we organise a one-day highgate tournament like last year? Make it open to all, (but capped at 8-10 teams, first come first served so we can all get enough games)? Maybe do it the same weekend as the Worlds? Mix up Birmingham teams a bit?

I reckon it would be cool to re-insitgate the crease, and I'd like to try some kind of 'no mallet contact' rule which excludes hooking and hacking, as they're both uglifying polo and allowing the former makes the latter uncallable.

  • Sounds good. I might not have a UK based team then so we'll need to mix it up!

  • I like that idea too, although with Matt and Mya away and hacking banned it's going to be a hard tournament for N3il... Shall we ask all the Northern teams first?

On another subject, here's some more quadcopter footage:

  • At least with a one day tournament there won't be any qualification problems Chris...

  • Maybe you should spend less time trolling me and more time organising this tournament N3il.

  • Haven't you got tea to make?

  • Sounds good.
I can't do the 19th but can do the 20th.

  • Or should we do it sooner? 22nd September any good?

I reckon we should just post it on the forum and leave it for whoever wants to come. I'm all for tournaments seeded by ability or region or some other practical consideration, but many people aren't of the same mind and the fallout doesn't seem to be worth it. Happy to go with the consensus though.

    Main things for me are:

    On a Sunday,
Cancellable if the weather is shit (although this probably excludes people who can't drive),
Low number of teams (aim for 7-10 games for everyone)
Rules to discourage double goalie bullshit and promote attractive/fun play,

  • I'm in France 14-22nd Sept.

  • In if it happens, was invited last year by the Cardiff lot but could not make it due to work commitments.

Let's decide a date tonight - everyone bring their weekend availability for September/October, yeah?

  • I don't feel like either of those are dates to avoid - the priority should be the availability of Birmingham players who want to come. If any Birmingham females/beginners prefer to go to those tournaments instead, that's cool. Either would be their first tournament...

    Oh, they're both Saturdays, nevermind...

  • Just upgraded to Avid bb7 disc brakes, bring on the rain!

  • Does anyone have a spare plastic cup for a shimano UN26 bottom bracket?

  • Nope, but have used cracked ones before with no problems (if thats your problem).
