Def includes new vibram soles, didn't get into detail re cork footbeds or welts, but certainly presented as the final price. Do you mean might he be reusing footbeds/welts?

Yes not everyone changes them. If he is doing all that then £160 doesn’t seem that expensive tbh. I paid £120ish a couple of years ago for new soles and welts for a pair of trickers. Used these guys; they were very good. https://shoehealer.co.uk/

£120-£130 depending on sole

I've used those to stick black vibrams on some Red Wings, I think I paid about £140 for new soles and speed hooks fitted and postage home (I dropped them off)
Took under a week to get them back. Great service, recommended. -

I’m going there in the spring with 3 pairs of Trickers and some redwings all needing a resole.

Do these need reheeling or could I get away with just new rubbers?

Any experiences here with Arket's shoes? They have a few that are made in Portugal, and seem to be similar price to Solovair, Thursday's etc.

Bought these off eBay. Nothing special but the laces they came with were all wrong. I’d like to put some new laces in but stuck on what colour

Try googling that colour of shoes and see what comes up.

That's wild. Apologies for all the recommendations above

I think I paid £130-40 for my redwing resole recently (in Leeds).

Nice collection! What's your maintenance routine and what products do you use? I have 4 pairs that could use some love after being resolved as they'll also see some heavy wear this winter

A couple of times a year I just get the worst off with a stiff brush, wipe them down with a wet cloth, let them dry naturally, and then work in dubbin with a duster. It’s best to let the dubbin properly soak in before wearing them, as if they’re still “wet” the dubbin picks up lots of grit and soil.
I’ve tried the various Red Wing products, but I find dubbin does the trick.

Imo that light shade needs matching laces. The burnishing isn't dark enough to support a dark contrast colour and the punches don't have black in them.
Definitely resist the temptation to choose something "interesting".
If you're in between colours and struggling to choose ask https://www.biglaces.com/ and they should help. Or just buy both colours anyway.

Yep, old school. Bear in mind it will darken the colour, but most treatments will.

Went for red laces in the end

Probably the wrong choice sartorially. But coloured laces is an itch I need to scratch.

Forge ahead then, loud and proud

No one will notice.
Done a bit of testing. No cloth, paper cloth, synthetic cloth.
I reckon a few seconds with the synthetic cloth a little while after the polishing makes a noticeable difference. A nice subtle shine. -

Good to know.

Enjoyed working with the polish you recommended btw.
What's a good colourless treatment for my Redwings and rainy weather Loakes?
£160 is not outrageous for a full resole (assuming it includes the replacement vibram units and new cork footbeds). Is he replacing the welts as well?
