  • There are a lot of grensons heavily reduced at the moment - so you can pick up a decent shoe but I wouldn't be paying full whack

  • I like the look of the Archie Brogues.

    Any decent heavy brogue alternatives?

  • I've got a pair of archies, uk8' in good nick. Could part with them for the right money

  • vibram soled boots?

  • Mine? No, triple leather

Thanks for the offer but my feet are bigger! Are yours the India made ones? If so, how do you find the quality?

  • 160 Euro.

    Just sayin'

Mine's 3 years old, so dunno if they're made in the uk or india.

Quality is good. They've been well used, but well taken care of so looks worn in, not worn out. To be honest I'm quite impressed with how well they've held up, thought they'd do a lot worse

  • Not to everyone's taste, but after my 3rd drop-in at Viberg in a week of visiting family in Victoria I fell victim to the Service Boot in CXL.

  • Are they really flat at the toe, or is it just photos?

  • That's the strange thing for me; I've always required boxy, wide and high toe boxes and these boots, though not as flat as they look, are much lower profile than other shoes that I have.
Yet they fit and don't give that "living in the cellar" feeling to my toes.

  • The soles on my old Red Wing 4130s are super fucked... Just spoke to the new Red Wing shop in town and they'll replace the sole for £75!?! How cool is that?

They only cost me £70 new but that's still a pretty good deal... Well happy!

  • ^ I was looking into this a while back as was the old man and he told me timpsons have a licence to do Redwings. However, pricing may be roughly the same

  • That's a keen price. Is it done in the uk, or do they ship them back home?

  • They do it somewhere just outside of London...

The tongue on one of mine has got a nasty gash on it, they said they could fix that too...

    Exciting!

I'm gonna pop them in this afternoon... Worn in uppers, new sole... Sweet...

  • Going to be sending some Loakes I have for work back to them for a replacement sole. Will report back. Only £65.

They're quite a high polish so I'm looking forward to seeing them get the factory treatment after they've got a year and a half of character about them.

  • Can't believe Red Wing moccasin boots are £230 now...

  • That's interesting, wonder if they'll do my moccasin boots as well?

  • I don't see why not...

Just don't tell them you're Dutch...

  • Oi! Is a south London Spanish accent better? Or should I go for the full on South African?

  • Contemplating these as a treat for putting up with a lot of shite for the last 4 months.
Black shell cordovan, can't get my head around the production process, part China and part Spain.

  • What kind of money?
