  • Need some comfortable walking shoes. Tend to walk 5-10k each day at the weekend, and now with a buggy / 10kg of kid in a sling, I should get some decent footwear that works as well as they look.

Was thinking about going all geography teacher and get a pair of mephisto, but haven't made my mind up yet. Any other ideas?

  • Finally got the Loake Bedales, was waiting to but them locally but the shop didn't get new ones in stock for months, so bought them online. Arrived the other day.

Quoted for a new page. V.nice.

  • 'work as well as they look'

  • I've posted these before but I ended up getting a pair. Highly recommended.

  • Also in brown and black like this

  • what are they? redwing postman?

  • 'work as well as they look'

I have a soft spot for these. Agree they're not for everyone, and doubt i'd be able to pull them off, but anyway

  • what are they? redwing postman?

    Correct.

  • I'm still looking too.
I've got some heel issues that have not responded to medical care yet and have gone through everything from Birkenstock to NB to Eccos (when they were still made in Denmark) and so on. As stated previously I'm looking at higher end work boot makers now.

Their oxford might just pass for a good looking shoe, wouldn't mind seeing more photos of it

  • I'm feeling the Mephistos.

  • ^^ They seem to be pretty thin on the ground when it comes to internets.
The Alden Workmen Oxford looks a little less chunky.

    I am sure you can

  • So who has changed how they do their laces since that TED talk video?

  • Not me, I changed my technique a couple of years ago thanks to a co-worker.

  • maybe a euph

  • Loafers. Why?

Never been a design I've ever though 'trendy' or even classic but they still endure...

  • Wow. No wonder he likes his hoovers with a cocaine habit like that!
