Noticed on FB that you were overseas for a while. You have job still?
-
• #203
How was the states?

• #204
Still got my job :) Managed to get extended leave/some compassionate leave. Got virtually no holiday to use until October now!
US was good, thanks :) Reasons for going not so good, but everything is working out OK so can't complain. Not ridden a bike for 2 months! First ride to work was... interesting, but surprisingly not too bad.

Well over due for a meet!

I'm back in Cov, after 2 months out of the country. Still no fixed gear at the mo though...
Welcome back mate.

I saw four together today in the city centre, I remember the one at the back was lime green.

I saw a bike parked by Timsons, had green and black tyres if I remember rightly. Saw a white Raleigh parked near the motorcycle park, had a single sided hub.

Too big for the rider, I wish people would use their brains when buying frames.
-
• #218
Id say that's about right, people use to use a larger size frame.
-
• #219
No they'd us the size that was fit for them.
-
• #220
Depends what you mean by "fit". Just a random choice here http://www.owenphilipson.com/blog/2010/06/08/scottish-cyclist-jimmy-smellie/ shows they had less seat post and more seat tube length. Compact geometry is a quite new thing.

• #221
Depends what's available as well, if you're after 531 or traditional dropouts there's less about than the usual alloy with vertical dropouts so not so many in a size to be an exact fit.
-
• #222
Either way there nothing very special. Track drops are the name of the game if your gonna build a track bike.

• #223
Interesting read on frame size, new vs old:
