  • Precious..

  • You tease .. this Christmas its all about this

  • I'd agree.. except I got a whisky with my own name on it. So, now my reference point for whisky is 1. everything with my name on it and 2. onwards, everything else :)

Plus vodka, and rum, and bourbon =ufkc i think im'm drunk

  • I'm up to 25% after yesterday but can't be arsed today. Woke up on a blow-up bed at Mrs Sparky's mother's and just had to drive back to London. Rest day.

  • I tell a lie: 32%

  • My "interesting time" with the Garmin 810 continues, with it crashing today - luckily it saved my ride. Somewhat annoyingly it's meant that I have two rides that are split into six sections, for a total of seven rides over the three days.

    FWP, I know.

Anyway, lovely but chilly day today, if only I could solve the "corpse foot" issue it would be fantastic.

  • Struggeling a bit 33%

  • Feeling relatively spritely. 37%

  • Very muddy over that hill for a few miles where the macadam ended.

  • Day three is now on the bag. I'm also suffering from corpse foot - this is a new thing for me and I don't like it. The food hangover was quite difficult to shake off too.

Other than that, it's going reasonably well and I'm now up to to 310 km / 62%.

  • Corpse foot - make sure shoes are dry, loose fit, layers of socks, shoe covers & wigglewiggle at gearsshift/braking.

Once it's present it'll be harder to keep off on the next ride.

  • What be corpse foot?

  • Fondo'd, through the medium of Stravart: a mouse and a wedge of cheese.

    Fondue'd

  • Today was fucking grim. That kind of January grey day that sucks all the heat out of you and any pleasure from riding a bicycle. I wanted to be back in bed from kilometre 1, until the end.

  • Oh and I'm 55% done.. Or something. All solo. #billynomates

  • 8% the amount of this done as well as the ABV of the beer I'm drinking.

  • No corpse foot, but pretty much pressed the nuclear clothing button and only just stayed comfortable on a relaxed 70mi Windsor loop. I'm not sure what more I could wear, but 130 miles done.

  • I see your nuclear clothing button, and raise you my outfit for today: long sleeve base layer, Phinney Jersey, Hardshell jacket, standard bibs under winter tights, winter hat and lobster mitts. Shoes had wooly seal skins covers on, rest of me was fine but my feet looked like chicken thighs when I got the shoes off back home.

  • Also- Winchester, why so fucking hilly?

  • Heavy long sleeve base layer, rapha winter jersey which is unusable above 5deg, Condor JLT team issue winter gillet, insane Pro gloves that are unusably warm in anything above 3deg, wooly cyclocross hat, madison glasses, castelli winter bib-tights, rapha 3/4 shorts, de-feet socks, sidi dominators that are half a size up to accommodate aforementioned socks, Altura winter over-shoes.

It's close but the pogies are coming out tomorrow

  • I've been wearing a l/s base layer, a s/s base layer, Pro Team Jacket, PT Thermal bibs, winter/wool socks, over socks, a merino hat, a buff, silk glove liners and Specialized Deflect gloves.

So far, it's been reasonably comfortable apart from the foot thing.

  • Beer jacket. Sorted.

  • 118km today, those in the Southern Hemisphere can fucking do one. We don't give a monkeys you can bash one out in 30 degrees weather whilst riding down the beach road. This turn in weather could make it hard tomorrow

  • An inch of snow here combined with a mild chest infection looks like this isn't going to happen for me. Roll on next year.
