Well done everybody. Seriously. Sorry to come across like a right cunt.
Never apologise

Sorry, I'll remember that...

I'm 18% there, how much does that leave me to do tomorrow?

Around avg. 12mph if you start right away.

I'm sure they will. Everything on your bike has been documented here. boom tss
Maybe, maybe not.

I was asked to submit "proof" of my mileage to get my badge for last year.
What are the odds that it's James' job to dole out the badges now?

I was asked to submit "proof" of my mileage to get my badge for last year.
Everyone was, by email. No such requirement this year, you just fill the form in. I doubt very much they will be contacting anyone to ask for proof, think how much work that would be.

Completed. My saddle was very sore today. I stopped to adjust it 5 times to no avail. A few days off the bike and I'll be able to sort it without the residual pain.
-
• #485
What about your bum? Was it ok?
-
• #486
That too.

Chaffing or pressure? We want details man, details!!!

My Boardman is currently so dirty you can hardly tell what kind of bike it is, let alone what make.
A good thing right? Maybe give the drivetrain a clean.

There's no point cleaning anything at the moment. We've only had one dry day in the last century*
*might be an exaggeration

I'm going to leave it- soon I'll be able to grow plants on my chainstays:
Anyway, fuck riding a bike today, I'm going for a run.

That chain needs degreasing and relubing.

That chain needs degreasing and relubing.
It got fully cleaned a couple of times a day all of last week, by floodwater admittedly, but it seemed to do a thorough job.
I then murdered it with Finish Line Wet Lube every morning- the only maintenance the bike needed.

I got bored of cleaning my bike and just stopped in the end. Most of the drivetrain is going to be replaced in the next couple of months anyway.
-
• #497
Yeah, I just usually buy a new bike when things wear out
-
• #498
Welp, I finished this morning at about 9:30am. 101% complete which is more pleasing than 100%. All ridden on my Sweet Fixie™
I cleaned my drivetrain exactly once, fairly unenthusiastically, on Christmas Eve, and have ignored it completely since then except to look at it and think "christ, that looks bad. Is there any lube left on that at all? I don't think so, it looks drier than the surface of the moon. And what the hell is that crusty stuff there with the twigs and the leaves sticking out?"
New Year's resolution: buy new chain before daylight becomes visible through the old one

My new years resolution:
- Sell off CX bike
- Build SSCX bike
When the time spent cleaning > time spend riding. I'm out.
- Sell off CX bike
