November too early to be putting up my excuses as to why I can't do it this year

I finished on NYE2020 with just over 500km, and would imagine I've only ridden a total of about 500 intentional kilometres in 2021. Probs out.

I might do it accidentally, but I won't be aiming for it this year. I got over doing it years ago. Soz Chops

Last year did it with very mild Covid… this year the motivation hasn’t kicked in…..yet at least.

Think I'll try and enjoy some winter riding this year rather than go for the 500

In one go?

• #2943
I will more than likely do it this year.
This'll be the first Christmas and New Years where I'll have three days off for each, so it may actually be fun (considering I've done it previous years while still working a 50 hour week).

Looking forward to all the people moaning about others completing it on the turbo.
It's a marketing campaign ffs.

Oooof, that'd take me about 18 hours...

I think my knees will go after 11 hours, I might join for a few hours but definitely not attempted it in one go because of the injury risk.

Would be fun to try it in one ride this year. Going to see what the weather is doing closer to the time.

I'm pretty committed to trying it in one go, and in 24 hours, having told half my sodding club (Islington) and now you lot.
The aim is to start at about 4 pm on the 28th, with a view to completing at sunset (about 4 pm) on the 29th. The current working schedule allows for 21 riding hours, and a buffer of 3 hours for eating, stretching, bike issues etc. That only requires an average moving speed of 24km/h for 21 hrs. The only caveat is the weather, so we'll see how that looks as we get nearer.
Easy enough, so I thought I'd make it harder and do it on a 1km loop just to fuck with my head even more.
The mince pie thread's been active for ages, so...
