Great initiative. Definitely in for something in the new year. My favourite is RASA N16. Not that many vegan possibilities but lovely.
From experience, though, it's best to just set a place, time, and date and start a list. :)

I like Sagar, too. It's a similar line of food to RASA but I still prefer RASA. I just don't like the fact that the owner of RASA has started lots of meat and fish restaurants when he started out with a wonderful veggie place.

Was thinking something non-oriental, not that theres anything wrong with indian veg stuff. Somehwere like lovin hut or maybe itadaki zen in kings cross.

Itadaki Zen sounds a bit oriental to me.

How about Indian Veg?
Been there many times and of course it's been a stalwart for ages, but I wouldn't go there for a restaurant visit these days, just to fill up on the quick.

I can do a big plate of pasta and pesto for £2.50 a head. Standing room only. Bring your own drink. No talking.

I'd suggest Diwana on Drummond St, much better south indian food.
Or Woodlands
Idli Sambar, Dhosas etc

The Gate in Hammersmith is probably a little too upmarket for the "can we get group buy" mentality here.

Mildreds?

I like pesto.

The best vegetarian Indian restaurant in london by far and cheap!
In fact im going to go tomorrow because just the thought of it is making me hungry.
If you wanna go further north Jai Krishna on Stroud Green Road is pretty awesome. -

BUMP!
Rascal and I have been thinking and we think - let's try starting this veggie nosh-up thread again shall we?
So, first we need to pick a date - Tuesday 20 September.
Then we need a list of good restaurants to work through (perhaps once a month?) starting with and including:
Sagar - 157 King Street W6 9JT
Mildreds - 45 Lexington Street W1F 9AN
Blah Blah Blah - 78 Goldhawk Road W12 8HA
Diwana - 121 Drummond Street NW1 2HL
Woodlands - 37 Panton Street SW1Y 4EA
The Gate - 51 Queen Caroline Street Hammersmith W6 9QL
Itadaki Zen - 139 King's Cross Road WC1X 9BJ
[feel free to add more on here]So, who is in for SAGAR on 2011-09-20?

Very interested in this, although I don't know that I can make Tuesday. Some good places worthy of consideration:
Saf (EC2)
Rani Vegetarian (N3)
Carnevale (EC1, just down the road from LMNH)
Manna (NW3)
So weve had several forum sausage fests* but I dont recall ever having seen any plans for a veggie equivalent.
If I were to try and organise a forum veggie & vegan nosh up, would anyone be in?
*pun very much intended
