  • Montezuma Chilli & Lime milk chocolate on the train last night... mmm.

  • ^that stuff's mad. More like a dessert. I like the way the hot chilli eventually cuts through the cooling lime.

  • a couple of times I thought I was going to cough from the chilli but it just tickled.
dessert quite apt as it was half my dinner (following a spinach soup in the station).
sat on the train following a beer on my lonesome and trying to blank out the dozen teenagers that got on at stevenage... thought I did quite well not to eat the entire bar in one go. not much left though.

maybe I'll go find it now...

  • I've become addicted to this,

However if I eat too much it gives me a migraine

    absolute pleasure/pain.

  • Problem solved:

  • I wish it was that simple, I bought some last Tuesday, ate about half a bar throughout the day. Riding home - got to Battersea and got struck down by a migraine so much so that I couldn't actually see properly to ride. Ended up walking to Earls Court in the rain with my bike and having to get the District line home. Fail.
The other half is still in my saddlebag, taunting me.

  • I've become addicted to this,

How do you eat it? I tend to suck the chocolate off and then get the full sour hit from the cherries. Interesting to materials scientists too, as it's a composite material and you can see how the strong fibrous cherries act as crack stoppers in the brittle chocolate matrix.

useful also for explaining to undergrads why early potters started adding tempers to the clay.

  • Who would've thought education could be so tasty?

  • not chocolate or sweets really but I had a great snack the other day.. Wasabi Peas. They were awesome.

  • Better than wasabi peas are the wasabi peanut crackers from Graze.com (maybe other places, but they're the only place I've seen them).

I could devour sacks full of them.

  • Mrs Brave bought this. Fucking lovely actually.

  • I used to eat Dolfin in the states, was very fine stuff.

Still sugar-free, been 7 weeks now.

  • the opposite of sugar-free: does anyone actually like the classic Hershey's milk chocolate?

We got given some at christmas, I tried a piece last night, it's still 'orrid (to my tastebuds that is).
Have a 12oz bag of "nuggets" (minus the piece I ate) looking for an appreciative home.

    Anyone?

  • hersheys has a distinct aftertaste of a sick soaked carpet.

  • There's no way you'll shift any Hershey product to people who appreciate chocolate.

  • Quite right, total garbage. Stick your Hershey's Kisses up your arse pal.

  • wrong thread then... I don't really want to just bin it but it is foul. Thought there might be some American confectionary aficianados about...

  • US confectionary chocolate (ie not fine but the generic stuff sold in gas stations and drug stores) is waxy, it has a different mix of fat, milk and sugar than over here. My ex-wife loved the confectionary chocolate over here (Galaxy, Dairy Milk etc) but hated Hershey's etc.
I was told it was due to the higher ambient temperatures there but seeing as everywhere is refrigerated or A/C'd within an inch of frozen I'm more inclined to think it's simply typical US cost cutting at the expense of anything approaching good taste.

Actually, we were given a couple of other Hershey's products too, and the big bag of plain chocolate nuggets with almond bits went down a treat. Very munchable and moreish and didn't taste at all of soured cream.

  • Coffee revels FTW.
I want a bag if purely coffee ones.Om nom

  • ^ this

  • Definitely not enough coffee creams in the world! Don't give me shitty cappucino or latte truffles i want coffee motherfucking creams!
