My spesh Tricross does very well in winter.
Comfortable geometry along with a flattened top tub should you find yourself needing to shoulder it. Drilled for both racks and mudguards and has bottle brazeons. Good clearance for cross tires making it quite viable for the snow.
Only downside I can come up with is that the brakes are a bit shit. Not a problem if you're riding fixed.

From earlier in the year...dirt jump frame built up as a big bmx made a good snow bike.

I had a respray done since this photo and the saddle really isn't that yellow anymore. Oh and a black Roberto headset now.
The clever thing about this bike, is it's also the perfect summer/spring/autumn bike ;)
I think my one concession to winter this year has been a full wrap of my bars, which I've just finished.

Riding in the snow, tip no. 38: Remove your rear brake to avoid snow build up.

Last year's winter bike. Not great on loose or deep snow but fine for most conditions in Montreal. Schwalbe Marathon Winter studded tyres. Going for disc brakes this year.

It's hard to say. I can get a true 38 mid-way up (on these long-ass track ends) and it's fine. 35 would be a bit further. Depending on what sort of mud guard you go for, it may or may not affect clearance at that point. Also, they may have played with the clearances slightly on this version (made a bit more space for big tyres).
