Top 16, easy... come on London.
Agreed that the 32 prelim spots are gonna go quick, is it too early start pestering the Seatellites?
-

Europe gets 16 spots.
2 of your 3 players need to have been top 16 at the Euros to earn said spot.
8 Teams will also go through from a prelim tournament like in Berlin.
Who's decided this?
Surely if we are sending 16 Euro teams we get to choose how we determine them?

Smoking weed in your dorm room again? Fucking punk.
Is there any idea on how the prelim spots will be handed out?

Andy: Negative, the Worlds (this year) are an NAH event, all the big American events are now supported/governed by their association. How exactly would we decide who goes... draw straws?
Mark: First come, first served.

If the euros is in May, we should send top 16 from EHBPC.

Peanuts, half time girls and no cheater mallets I would imagine.

Yeah, that's what they're saying, but with the weird: two of you can grab another player and form a different team kind of thing.

Sounds like heaven

Rupert's out though.

Only problem being is if the euros turns into another hippy 'we'd like the whole of europe to be included' rather than 'we want only the best teams from europe to play in our tourney'

What tournament was that? And anyway, the best teams still win regardless of who's included?
-
• #90
top 16 might be different though
-
• #91
If everyone's include and able to go, then the top 16 are the top 16?
Unless Pique means teams from London being excluded to make way for smaller scenes which may not be as good as the team in London that's excluded. Which I'm guessing he does. And now I understand.
-
• #92
yep, and maybe the team that came 9th, 14th, whatever, can't make it to Seattle, so 17th/18th should be offered the place?

the euros 2010. im only saying that because londons spots were so limited.

That's the idea yeah... the Euros seeds the Worlds, if someone pulls out it goes down the line. It's worth noting that if you want to, you could try and get a place via the NAs, we've yet to formally reciprocate that kind of offer to the Americans for the Euros though.

How much will ticket prices go up by May ?
Would be ideal to sort the teams that are going before then.
-
• #96
euro's are late may / early june
-
• #97
Pretty impossible to manage a selection before EHBPC i think. And this year the 2 tourny are particulary far in time... that's lucky...
-
• #98
In my mind qualification for tournies should be:
UK champs > Euros > Worlds
( > = top teams qualify for...)

How many spots total and who do the rest of the spots go to?

@Pique.
For EHBPC 2010, London was:
1) the most fucked up city in terms of ratio Slot/teams
2) the city with the more slots, 4.I know our way of choose was shitty for big community and too good for smaller.
Maybe that this time, for EHBPC 2011, we should all find good solutions to allow a better ratio for countries (if the country way is choose).
@jono:
Where do you find the informations about the slots for Europeans?
You're learning things in university. Like: the number of people who will be able or willing to travel a distance drops as that distance grows.
