Sold.
Postponed until the ice thaws a bit.
I promise never to unduly raise hopes on the forum again.

Can't you just sacrifice one rider to go and bring back carryout?
I vote citron
I'm up for most things, so will keep watching the thread and make a call later, still quite up for it.

it's only 13 miles from kelvedon to mersea, I will do the carry out but you will have to cycle to Herne Hill to pay me first and then collect from HH or Liverpool st. Are you sure you can ride that far? remember it might be cloudy.

bump.
thinking-caps on as to when?
-
• #31
Could be up for this if it runs but will have to meet at the Station to save a trip form Essex into Town then back out on the Train again.

It's so warm, let's do this soon!
-

I've been in a cold damp basement all day looking for tapes.
I've just come upstairs and have been told it was hot and sunny.
I'm not amused.Yes. Still defo on for this. A friend of mine is moving to Vancouver in a couple of months and is keen to do it before he leaves so April or May suits me.

• #34
is this ride gonna happen?
-
• #35
Absolutely yes. How does one of the upcoming bank holiday weekends sound? Maybe early May?
Any preference from you lot?
-
• #36

-
• #37
When's good then? Come on people - dates down here.....

I normally avoid forum rides like the plaugue, but have been meaning to try this place out for ages, so count me in.
I will be eating nothing but £40 worth of lobster.
I shall bring my own hammer.Dont mind riding the whole way, as long as it's not at some stupidly slow pace that takes us all day to get there....

^^
Flat-ish but depending on whether we get the train all the way to Kelvedon or Chelmsford it could be longer than is comfortable fixed depending on gearing. -
• #41
Gears are your freind.

Based on a quick look at the original list, I don't think this will be like a typical forum ride :-)

because everyone will want to get to the fresh fish first.

Inclined to agree to be honest for this ride.
Almost certainly will ride geared but naturally there's nothing to stop you riding the whole day with polo gearing.
-
• #45
Except jelly legs.
-
• #46
The place is awesome, can't recommend it enough I'm definitely be up for this, but deffo going geared...
-
• #47

Visited this place a couple of months back and its quality, remember to check the tide tables before you go, a friend who turned up late had to wade his way through the strood!

dates?

Suggestions:
Sat 30th April,
Sunday 1st May
Monday 2nd May
Saturday 7th May
Sunday 8th MayHave checked tide tables and The Strood should be nice and dry when we arrive/leave on any of those dates but still might be wise to bring some flip flops.
I agree. This ride would be lovely when its a bit warmer.
