I think team thor and that team from belfast (if they play) would have a good chance of top 10
Subtlest diss of Asbo yet. Bully.

haha! So some of these teams put forward by LDN to Ale aren't even formed yet?
-

Remember how Cambridge was seeded?
Yep, it was unfair to a few good teams. But i'm just going off the standard of polo i saw from both London teams and the roe teams.
Seeding is completely bias, it favours stronger teams. If there is one big tourney should it be seeded so better teams get an easy route to the euros? Logically this is not dissimilar to splitting london/rouk apart from it providing rouk with a better platform to enter the euros.

Heh, I didn't give you a comprehensive list, just a list of teams that can beat Netto most days of the week. All of the teams that went to Ale are existing (ie: training) London League teams.

Umm, not really, but fingers crossed a RR format (everyone plays everyone) or similar could be used... no winging then.

Asbo have a chance of top ten. It depends how the teams around team perform on the day. Even the big teams can have shitty games, I guess thats a plus towards one huge tourney to rule them all...

Not sure about Otters, but I don't think you can describe B_D as unformed.

I see what you're doing Jono, stop trying to crack me and make me agree to one big tourney just to prove a point ;)

Man, this is going to go on and on....

I wasn't, just curious to see who's in the new line up.

No, we have 18 regular league teams, which were the ones put forward.

No shit. This is London polo. It takes our team 100 emails to figure out which pub to go to.

Ok, I'm bowing out... how about if the conversation continues publicly with the 6 scene reps? Or whatever, have a talk amongst yourselves (you all got each others emails from my email) and give us a way forward?

If it's just those scenes we're talking about, I think we've pretty much voiced our opinions and had as much discussion as is necessary.
The difficult thing is organising a vote. We don't even know what we're voting on!
1st vote - mega tournament, city split by size (eg 6 for London 1 each for everyone else) or London/ROUK split with two qualifier tournaments?
2nd vote - location/date of tournament(s).
3rd(!) vote - format of tournaments? Not sure if this stage would be necessary.

Joined up thinking....
Two Euro qualification tourneys - one for LDN (6 slots) and one for RoUK (4 slots) - crucially, eligibility for these tourneys is on the basis that the team is commiited to being able to go to Spain.
The six/four split future-proofed/remains for 2012 to allow regional rerpesentative panel to mature and give greater opportunity for regions to set their goals going forward.
LDN hosts on LDN exclusive qualification tourney.
The RoUK Euros tourney may well be smaller than the LDN - therefore run an open tourney alongside/simultaneously, thus bringing alive my point about national inclusion (not just playing...) at every possible step (even if your team is not good enough to qualify). Encourages other teams/fledgling organisers/new refs/WAGs etc. to get together and provide atmsophere, audience and participation in a positive, pro-Euro/Worlds activity. Hey - even LDN teams could enter the open tourney for the practice... ;-)
A joint CBR/MCR production would make a lot of sense for the RoUK event, as would re-using the universally accepted indoor court at Cambridge.

One big tourney no one can hide in those results then..

+1 to a mega tourney
The spots have been allocated to the UK therefore the best teams from all of the UK should be representing in Barca.
-
• #699
if your not good enough to make the top ten in the uk, then spend the next month practising till you are.
if you still fail, then you are not good enough to play in the euros. -

No one is trying to hide in results. There are bigger things at stake here. Most of ROE feel that LDN having 7 slots is ridiculous and damaging to the growth of polo outside LDN.
No-one knows for sure. One of them will take on Ali I imagine (my old teammate who's been polo training in the US, he's inherited Dusty's backhand irritatingly), Lebowski's looking too. Em/Aidan/Ray may return to polo? They may pick up a sub or steal a player from another team, etc? You should volunteer your skills and forget about Manchester polo Chan, just look at Snoops, he's laughing now.
