T-5 days to the funeral and some bastard neighbour has Abide with Me on repeat.
Edit - Could be a more personal thing but given the state of the country I doubt it.

Is anyone going to go and see the queue to see the coffin?
Not to join the queue but to see what a 5 mile queue of nutbars looks like.
I imagine by this evening there is going to be a lot of people losing their 5h1t -

Rode down on a very roundabout way back to Kings Cross, curious to see how many people were there last night. Thousands and thousands... Had a nice chat with a Polish TV News London correspondent before he went live (forgot to ask which network). Soldiers then shut me in Buckingham Gate with those massive gates near the mews. Didn't stop to see the hearse. Not my bag. Don't get it. Madness.

Do people just stand outside all through the night?

If anyone goes to see the coffin and the crowds start a fist fight can you PLEASE film in portrait?

I would have gone up here in Edinburgh just for a look - if the queues were more like 20 mins

I'm going to take a long way home after work tonight. Partly for the queue, partly because I want to see what Cycleway 4 is like now it's opened up a bit.

Has anyone kicked off because it is a closed casket yet? "I queued for 14 hours for this?"
-

My understanding from gangster movies is that it's only a closed casket when they were shot in the face. I assume it's the same for real-life gangster firms.

An even better time for a solo bike ride. Quiet roads and birdsong.

A friend of mine died of catastrophic head injuries due to a motorbike crash and his family still had an open casket funeral. You'd be amazed at what some people decide to do if it aligns with their beliefs/culture. To be fair, the morticians did an incredible job.
