Seems to have just pushed his bike away, not sure if that means it's all over. The video is not helping much...

• #53
Not sure what I'm watching, but it's not exactly riveting yet.
Agreed - a bit like being in a busy gym. Not a bad idea for an event, but not executed very well.

I have just worked out that the bikes are outside, you can see them in video 4. I think it's already happened though.

Guy collapsed, ambulance on its way :(
-
• #56
I don't think Tom's on until 13:30.
-
• #57
Oh dear. Are you there laner?
-
• #58
Want to be there, sounds fun, busy working though!
-
• #59

:-(
Don't take my above comments as a lack of compassion, they are unrelated to the collapsed person. Hopefully all works out well.

My run was scheduled at 13:10. Dude in a London Pride jersey round before seems to have had a serious failure of body and the emergency services were called. Was not looking good. Lunch breaks are only so long so I had to head back to work. Did witness a dude riding for Pearson beat Wiggo though, plenty of sub-2 times.
Did meet up with laner, and saw chainbreaker on my way out. -

That didn't look at all good. Here's hoping they pull through :(
-
• #64
+1. Sorry you didn't get to beat Wiggo Tom.
-
• #65
News from BikeRadar is that they didn't make it. Tragic.
RIP

i really hope bike radar is wrong.

It really wasn't looking too great =/
Well done to Clever Pun though a storming time and a proper good placing. -
• #68
What? Someone died on the Wattbike???
That's absolutely horrible.
-
• #69
^ And there's no pun intended here, I'm genuinely shocked, before someone gets the wrong idea.
-
• #70
Bikeradar is suggesting maybe not. Internet pounces on these things super quick and there's never any real info. Wait and see I guess.
-
• #71
Well, I hope it's a false alarm!
-
• #72
oh no that's horrible.. I saw him taken out to the ambulance with an oxygen mask and defrib stickers on, I assumed that mean he'd be ok
-
• #73
Wiggins reckons he's alive, and the bikeradar thread has someone reporting that he was breathing when they took him to hospital

^ Here's hoping so.
It turns out we were in the same race Clever Pun - I was on bike 1 and a good few lengths behind you at the finish! Cheated you were.
