Well done everyone, especially getting such cross party support.

This victory in the European Parliament means that the European Commission (ie civil servants) have to take the declaration and turn it into a plan for action, hopefully a new directive to get more sensors etc on lorries and direct action to bring all the EU countries up to the current level.

Whatever they come up with will have to be approved by the European Council - probably the transport minister of all EU countries - at that stage we will have to ramp up our campaigning again. EU processes run very slow, we have to keep an eye on what they are doing but don't expect too much before next year.
