That was Dope!

Thirty four seconds. Crazy. Nibali and Scarponi looked like they were busting it as well.

• #590
That was Dope!
he was on a mission, reckon he'd be a good courier :) -
• #591
Couriers would reject him straight away. He has gears! and brakes!
-
• #592
Just how boring is this Giro?
-
• #593
just as boring as when Merckx used to win everything I guess? maybe someone should tell Scarponi, Nibali, Rujano and others to htfu. Or fly in Chris Horner ;-)

Bert's got a long cage derailleur and an Apex 32 cassette I reckon
spot on.. http://road.cc/content/news/36163-giro-tech-contador-goes-apex -
• #596
Couldn't at least lay their hands on the Rival version? Or is it the same cassette?
-
• #597
I think that the longer cage on the apex derailleur allows the use of the super high range apex cassette (11-32T), which is why people are using it. I doubt a rival derailleur would work with apex cassette.
An apex derailleur would probably work with rival/force/red cassettes - but there wouldn't be much point because you wouldn't gain any additional range in the gears.
Part of me thinks it's a shame SRAM invented apex as I'd have loved to have seen Bertie on a triple! That said, apex may be the perfect option for my girlfriend's next bike.

Apparently Jamie Burrow (known to hippy who has drafted him) will be handing out ice creams by the side of the road as the Giro goes past his gaff in Italy today. Watch out for him on Eurosport. Having been photographed standing next to him while we were both wearing lycra, I can state categorically that he could use a few ice creams.
Nice guy, Mr Burrow. Bit on the skinny side though, that lad wants feeding.. ;)
