... study and analysis of the biological passport for each rider...
Can anyone give a dumb down explanation of the biological passport approach?

starfish and coffee
by taking a whole load of data from the riders and keeping track of a number of parameters the idea is it will be clearer if there is a sudden change in these things
previously there were just certain limits applied to everyone, the passport allows for the fact that different riders may have different biological strengths and weaknesses.

This is the best article I've read on it;

one of the indicators in riders is looking at reticulocyte (immature red blood cell) values and signs of accelerated or decelerated recticulocyte production.
acceleration = possible EPO use and an ability to carry more oxygen in the blood stream..

I was watching this at a spainish hotel bar, and accidently let a dirty bastard' comment slip out. Did'nt go down too well. All the locals seemed to think he did'nt know. Mugs. If Schleck had so much as farted strangely he would hear about over his radio. He saw a chance of nicking some time and did.
(*although how do you win at something as painfully demanding as cycling, without having a roughless streak?)

Yeah. He should have stopped, helped him fix his chain. Then they could have sat down and chatted about it in the evening while they shared a blood transfusion.

I'd doubt they'd share blood as there's a test that can detect the infusion of someone else's blood and Contador is very careful about what he puts in his body to avoid failing a test.
Oh. Hang on, where did Contador get this steak from again?
-
• #294
Good job he left Astana really. Eventually would of ended up with Vino's turbo juice in him by mistake post Bruyneel
-
• #295
Love that no one even did a basic smell test on the Contador excuse.

The final climb just about to start for the break. It goes on for a bit.
