you could hire a power flusher > http://www.hss.com/hire/p/central-heating-flusher, give the system a clean out, then put some inhibitor in there
-
• #6328
I could, but it doesn't seem entirely worth it as I only have 4 radiators, 1 of which will be new, and I'll be draining the system anyway. It seems like there are products you can inject into a sealed system via an isolated radiator, let do their thing for a week or so, then drain off.

yep, that'd work too

I have a Bosch 18V circular saw which I can loan in Leytonstone. Better for lighter duting cutting, so depends on what you want to cut. Also have a drill I can loan (if that's what you meant).

It would be to cut sheets of ply - are you able to set the depth of cut on it? Would be hugely grateful if that was ok to borrow - initially I just want to lay floor in master bedroom so that we can move in there, as rest of the house won't be complete by that point

Did you find your carpenter? We have a great one in SE15 but because he is good he is very busy, so lead times are long. PM for deets.

That stuff's great, our local polytech re-did all their carparks with it a few years ago, now they've got lovely green grass carparks rather than waterlogged concrete ones.

as with most building related topics, there's an associated building regulation, in this case Approved Document K > http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/uploads/br/BR_PDF_ADK_1998.pdf

From what I can tell, it doesn't have to have nosing but must be uniform in it's construction. I'll measure it and think about it.
Picking up the vanity unit tomorrow so hope that looks good

nosing is there to aid with edge perception by creating a contrast, but in a domestic dwelling, where the inhabitants are familiar with the lack of nosing, not strictly required. It's one of those things that can be a 'discussion point' when you come to move on, as not every building inspector/surveyor would say they comply unless nosed. you deffo cannot rent it out / airbnb unless nosed.
the example you depicted has two main fails though: steeper that 42 degrees, and no handrail - these are contraventions

They look like milk crates to me.

Hi, sorry for the delay in replying. It has adjustable depth. I reckon it could probably handle 18mm ply or thereabouts without too much difficulty. PM me if you want to borrow it.

Noob question no doubt but I'm stumped. Looking at installing my sink and kitchen taps tomorrow. This is my current setup with Speedfit. The braided flexi hoses that came with the tap have a female connector. What adapter do I need?

Ooo, that's nice. Still probably wouldn't have solved the issue I had with the (crazy) paving slabs...
