I need to try and remember which sandpapers are decent and get more of the same range. I've got a random mix some of which are excellent and some of which are dismal and just deposit brightly coloured grit on whatever you try and use them on.

The wide plastic pipe that takes waste from back of the loo out to the drain has gone from white colour to a yellow ish colour. Can I paint it with something to smarten it up?

Prefer sheets at they fit into the existing storage but rolls seem more common these days
Amazon, B&Q and Screwfix are all have pretty poor offerings

Try Leyland SDM or Brewers decorators

The important bit is getting whatever you paint it with to stick. A decent primer that can cope with plastic would work. I would change it for a new one given that it's probably less bother to me to do that than try and paint it.
In fairness if you try and clean old emulsion off of one it's usually well stuck so maybe just emulsion would work, possibly rub it with some wire wool first to key the surface.

I wouldn't look at any of those for sandpaper. I do buy mine online these days but I'm mostly buying for specific Festool models. I have a few rolls on the go for hand work.
This cloth backed stuff is really good and durable. I don't use it on machines though.

Just had the floor insulated, replaced, screed and ready for floor covering. Toilet had to be removed and replaced. Sort of thought they would have used a new pipe and not the old crappy one.... Going to be mostly hidden by the sink unit so will wire wool and paint it with whatever is to hand abd then forget about it.

Had a damp patch here, had a leaky shower directly above. Got that fixed and thought that would be it but it's come back. I've had a look under the shower and it all seems dry there (it was pretty much pouring out a failed silicone seal before). This time I think its from an outdoor electrical junction box pretty much directly on the other side of this wall that had no silicone so any time it rains it could just come behind the box and inside.
Siliconed it but wanted to take a look and see if I could see the source of damp more clearly as under floorboards in bathroom above all seems dry. Made a hole in the ceiling to take a look but all I can see is very soggy sandy brick coloured stuff. Was kinda expecting to see an empty void that I could look at, see where the electrical junction came in etc.
Wanted to keep the hole small for patching. What is it tho??

What is this architrave profile called? The bit I'm struggling to find is the round undercut profile on the door side,we can cut the outer profile ourselves. It's all one piece.

I would suggest some sticky vinyl. Available on eBay etc in various colours or patterns etc carbon fibre is nice - maybe not great for your pipe though. It’s cheap and with some careful application should be a nice job.

quadrant moulding?

It's all one piece, where quadrant moulding looks like a quarter circle

Staff bead ?

I think the nearest you’ll get to that from all the run-of-the-mill timber yards is to modify some bead-and-butt prepared boards.
Or you go down the the custom-made route, but that takes time so costs more than most people are prepared to pay. -

I usually make that kind of thing by hand using a victorian hand plane. You can find them on ebay in sets for relatively little money.
Or maybe adapt it from something like this :-

can anyone explain why my ceiling is full of sand? If I cut a hole in the ceiling to check out the damp, sand is just going to fall into my kitchen lol.

Sounds like deafening of some sort.

Cheers.
Not that I've ever found. I've shared with other people but these days I tend to buy small packs from resellers on ebay to supplement the huge amount of less popular sizes/grits I already have.
If you're buying it on a roll just get 1 roll each of the main grits, 80, 150, 240. Which type you are buying is a minefield anyway.
I don't normally use Axminster but they have a big range. :-
