Just to check, these will clip together into one unit?

Yes. Sys3 is the current range, and L denotes the size as far as I’m aware.

And they're not shit?

Not used sys3, only the old ones that clipped at the sides and front, and the first ones with the spinny catch at the front. The newer ones look even better.
Everyone I know who uses festool and the systainer system rates it, but it’s hard to separate honest feedback from the maniacal fandom.
FWIW, I use Bosch L-boxx and find them to be decidedly meh.
And I’m jealous of the systainer with drawers. The festool also seem to stack easier. I’m less confident that the single front catch would survive being massively overloaded like how I overfill my Bosch ones. -

Other colours are available.

Or with a built in compressor:
Edit: festool also do a small extractor, and a speaker system systainer.

This is what I fancy.
I have a mix of Makita Macpacs and Festool Systainers they work together fine (as long as the Macpacs are underneath- it’s just the way Festo like it).
They’re both made by Tanos who licence the design to a bunch of other companies. Makita only seem to have the license for the first version with the side clips- they’re a bit of a pain tbh.The Auer ones look like the sex.

Fuck me, those are FIT. So far down the list of priorities, but if I do have lots of spare cash and need some very nice looking tool boxes I know where I’m going!

Exactly.
They’re much cheaper than systainers though - I think ordering is a bit complicated, they’re used to selling by the pallet load.

My tool storage is a fucking mess.
It reminds me of High Fidelity - our hero catalogues his records not by genre or alphabetical order but by the date he bought them.
A system that only works for him. -

Plastics better for burying than copper if in screed unless it’s gas.
I don’t get the big thing about plastic being this shit. As long as you use the right materials it’s fine although I do prefer soldering as it looks neater on show.

Don’t tell me that!
My system is fucking stupid. My mafell rail saw is in an old style systainer, the rest of my tools are in Bosch Lboxxes despite not owning any Bosch hand tools, I do have a Bosch extractor that takes an Lboxx on top, which lead me to choose them in the first place. It’s never actually that convenient to put the boxes on the extractor tho. And if I have to take all my tools to a job, I tend to end up just bunging stuff in those heavy duty shopping bags like some mental vagrant.
I’m quite tempted to weigh my boxes to be clear about how much I’m overfilling them. Maybe that’ll help me justify some new ones instead!

I don’t think it’s shit, it has its place for sure. It’s definitely quick to fit, I sometimes feel it’s a bit temporary though.
And if you have to use a lot of fittings it can be expensive.
Maybe it’s the feeling of being de-skilled. -

Did you watch the animation?

Are you going to varnish/lacquer? If not it'll get mucky quite quickly. The veneer is thin and does wear through depending on the traffic. I worked in an office that had raised ply flooring, with a decent clear lacquer on it, but wheelie office chairs wore through it in a couple of years.

Just check when you're ordering that they are in stock. I'm waiting for a couple of the toolboxes which have been on backorder for weeks with no sign of arrival. Not sure if it's manufacturing or delivery problems.

Just get cheap 3/4 spruce ply and paint it matte black for that venue stage vibe. Maybe also a worn handwoven rug to throw on top.

Anyone need a relatively small amount of engineered oak flooring? Got 6.6m² or so left over after installing and will sell for a knock-down price. Located in Brockley.

Have you got any pics? I'm in Crofton Park and currently making decisions around flooring options for kitchen/diner renovation... cheers

I do, will PM. But feel free to drop in and look at our floor without commitment. Easily viewed from outside.

In retrospect, pouring 4 cubic metres of concrete the day after my first vaccine wasn't the best plan. It was piped in from a lorry at full 22m extension and my friendly, qualified neighbour was directing, but now I'm absolutely fucked.

Solid.
I was wrung out the day after.
I took it as an excuse for a siesta- 2 days running.
🙂Where do you live? The tool collection/Spax/Hoselock look British the house/shutters/roof design etc doesn’t particularly.

Switzerland. Most of those brands are available here. The drill in that photo is actually the only thing I brought over from the UK. New Makita drill and driver are staying well away from the dirty work!
Yep just bringing the heating into the loft in a less convoluted manner. Can see straight down the stud wall so hoping it's just a case of dropping a length down there, popping a bend and joint ok the bottom and then hooking that up to existing pipes in the room but we'll see how that plays out over the bank holiday weekend.
