Building notice question - What does "Do you agree for the plans to be subjected to conditions where appropriate?" mean?

Just posted this in the Homes thread...
I have a smart one, but hear me out...
It cost about 35 quid and has Homekit (may not be of interest to you).
2 parts:Aqara Smart Home Hub (via Ebay)
Switch https://www.banggood.com/Original-Aqara-Smart-Wireless-Switch-Smart-Home-Kit-Remote-Control-Work-with-Multifunctional-Gateway-From-Eco-System-p-1224921.html?rmmds=myorder&cur_warehouse=CZIts cheap (ish) small, and infinitely configurable.
Currently one press plays a normal door bell noise, two presses plays Taylor swift across the whole house. It can also be set up to send notifications to phones etc.

I need to run a 650cm extension cable for a tumble dryer that will be in an outbuilding.
What gauge/mm should I use? 2.5mm? Or is that overkill for that distance?
Cheers.
Ps is it also worth changing the fuse in the extension plug?

Anyone know about coving? At some point a previous owner ripped the original stuff out of our house.
There seems to be quite a few different materials being used to make it, any pros or cons? -

Plaster or GTFO. You need a fiberhand.

Might find it here.

Edit: Middleton looks close.

How the bollocks do you get the things on the wall though?
We've still got a 3m length of ragged plaster & ceiling where I took down the moulded coving, and I'm dreading (a few years later...) trying to install a new bit.

LED non-flourescent tubes. Why have I not used them before? Very instant, much quiet. No more tick-tick-ticking sounds when I go in the garage. And will reduce power consumption from a faintly ridiculous 754W down to 260W.

I've ran some speaker cable around the edge of my room for 5.1. It's time to put my skirting on. I was just going to pop the speaker cable out from a little groove where the skirting meets the floor. This looks a bit rubbish. Is there anything I can fit in the board to make it a bit neater? Those wall mount terminals are a bit big for the size of my skirting.

I think you basically have to rehydrate the whole thing and stick it on.

Do you agree with the conditions that have been placed on the plans by the council?
For example: removal of permitted development rights moving forwards, or the need to pay a community infrastructure levy of £10k, etc.

I don't recognise it from previous projects. It does look as though it could be an extra bit of beading tacked onto the existing but it's not that unusual a pattern. Very nice moulding really.

Any more details on these? There’s a tube in my parents’ garage that takes so long to fire that I’ve usually found what I went in for, hit my shin on a towbar, trapped a toe in a mouse trap and made it back into the house before it actually comes on. I would love to do some replacing.

How did it go?

I replaced all the old flourescent tubes at the workshop at my old job with the cheapest LED tubes I could find (£5ish a piece) at the local hardware store. Decent colour and worked flawlessly for the remaining year of my time there.

More awkward than I would like, but I think it went well.
He's offered to come back at our convenience and infill the gaps, trim the hearth etc.
The trouble is that his starting point was 'how could it be done better?' - obviously the answer is that I don't know, I'm just the client, but you could have done whatever joiners have done since time immemorial...
We finally hit upon the important bit when I asked to see evidence of previous joinery works to demonstrate competency to do the making good. Only one photo was available and it was a small bit of infill. It finally transpired that other than that, and my flat, he's never fitted a traditional floor before. Makes it a bit galling that he hid that fact and then tried to square up to us that it was fine in the first place - and charged £50/hour each for him and his assistant to do it!
I guess options are:
- Let him come back and make good. Not sure he's got the skills to do it right.
- Write lawyer-y letter and try to extract refund
- Third option that I can't currently think of due to frustration?
- Let him come back and make good. Not sure he's got the skills to do it right.

'fluoresecent' please people.
Yes, as the son of an electrician it is a trigger. -
• #25022
Hmm that is tricky. When you say refund what would you want back?
Mine received a slightly odd response. So not sure where it’s heading, I’ve not paid yet so maybe in a slightly stronger position.

These are the ones I've got. They replace a standard 5ft/1500mm flouro tube. Replace the starter with the bypass unit included with the bulb, fit tube, job done. They're pricier than normal flouro tubes, but I reckon they're worth the extra.

I'm pondering that. I guess costs and living wage for labour hours is fair for me to pay. Assuming he can't provide the evidence of competency to perform the remedial works, I could go down that road. Might be a case for calling Consumer Advice. Or just spamming tje forum for more advice, worked last time I had such a dilemma :)
What do you mean by an odd response?

Why, even as the son of an electrician, would you insist on people spelling flourescent incorrectly? The etymology of the word flourescent is from 'flourospar' and 'opalescent'. Neither results in 'flouresecent' being the correct spelling. Which probably explains why it doesn't occur in that form in the OED. Or the Cambridge Dictionary, which is obviously far, far superior.
Dry it out, installing it wet is asking for mould problems.
