If you wanted to run a space heater while welding and testing your PA system you might need to run an extension cable. It was kind of my point that you'll probably get by without an new CU in the garage but if you need a bit more power than the garage circuit can handle you could use one from the house.
In fairness it was you who wanted moar pwr.

Things are coming together... Still trying to find a reliable tradesperson to fit the shower panels though!

I tend to forget about it as an option, you're right though, technically you can.

Depends on the welder.
when welding at a friends parents place had real problems welding as the voltage drop from the house to the garage meant getting decent welds were problematic.

Update to the shelving/cutting batten bit the other day. Had some more to do and couldn't give up the time for a pull saw so I picked up a dewalt circular today. It's stupidly fast. Honestly like a knife through warm butter, on whatever I've thrown at it today - some old oak, ash and cherry. Clean cuts and fairly easy to hit the mark by eye/hand. When I figure out how to fit a jig/guide on it I'll be making battens all day. Should have got one ten years ago.

Did it not come with a rip fence? All you need for repeatable cuts.

It did, I just haven't figured it out yet. I'm sure there's not much to figure out but one thing at a time - power tools are a mystery to me.

So the wooden flooring I sanded and refinished a couple of weeks ago looks great (for the most part) but isn't really behaving how I'd like it to.
It seems to be collecting dirt quite easily, and to have quite a rough-feeling finish to it - more so than when I'd finished sanding.
Is there some kind of denibbing or buffing I could do now that could improve it, or is this something I have got wrong during the process that will be hard to rectify?
I did actually buy a Ryobi buffer last weekend, because it was cheap and I thought it might be useful in between coats of finish for the next room I'm going to do.

Its pretty self explanatory. Couple of tips:
- Ignore any scale on the bar of the fence, always take a measurement with a tape between the fence and the edge of the blade.
- Before doing your cuts, do a test cut on an offcut and measure this as well.
- When you get to the end of a rip pay attention as because the fence is ahead of the blade you can get some wobble.

How did you finish the floor? Did you just stain it or stain and seal it? If it's getting worse it sounds like it could be the boards absorbing moisture.
Buffing could help but you might want to check it first. Best if possible to go at it with a Scotchbrite pad somewhere where it won't be noticed before buffing.

One coat of Osmo Polyx Tint, one coat of clear, as recommended by the site I bought it from.
The boards in our last place were finished by a lacquer, which I think I preferred. Though I love the stain on these ones.

Contact the maker? I’m sure they get panic calls like this periodically.

@Chalfie is that melamine? If so you might get away with one of those laminate repair stick type things. I think you heat them and melt the stick into the chip and the finish with a fine grit.
Other solutions like car body filler etc might do it but the colour match is the issue. There’s plenty out there that would do a half decent job if you wanted to try. Good luck

Thanks! I meant to post some contextual pictures too of the state it was in and how far back I had to strip the room. Quite proud of it!

I like the new colours you've got. The blue and green work really well.

What about just clear lacquer?
It's chip board and melamine.
And I've just seen the price of a new table.
Weeps
Biggest thing (in terms.of draw) will be a welder but works on a 13A plug.
