Normally you rummage around in the bottom of the toolbox until you come up with something to poke in the hole. In a pinch you could probably trim one. I'm thinking that the way a washer works it's kind of approximate though. If it's ceramic cartridges you need, good luck.

Hey guys,
How can I fill this hole? It's 100mm diameter in a cavity wall, there was an extractor going through it.
Thanks for any advice.

Shrunken heads.

Cut bricks and mortar, then render again. Or shrunken heads, they'd look great there.

for me, I'd get a couple of heads and shrink 'em to fit, I think.

Do you find it best to use a specific head dehydrator or can they go in the oven on low for long time?

Just get 20 litres of head shrinking fluid from Screwfix, they should shrink to 10" in about 20 minutes. Best to get them removed from the body first though. You can use expanding foam to fill any small gaps left. There are some other options from boutique manufacturers, grotesque features, ethnic variations etc. B&Q do some decent faux piercings if you want to go full native and they have a discount card if you shrink a lot of heads.

Forgot to say, if you do use the head shrinking fluid, don't get it on your hands!

Sun dried is vastly superior, and remember to buy local.

What ever happened to traditional methods? Hot sand, people.

Whilst I am all in favour of keeping the old skills alive,
I've found that as most people are full of shit,
even when dried as per above,
modern shrunken heads form a cold bridge across the cavity
and lead to condensation in the cavity.Have you got a piece of the original venting pipe that you can use to ensure you maintain a cavity,
say with bundles of tiny shrunken heads separated by off-cuts of modern slab insulation? -

Forgive my ignorance, but I've been trying to figure out what you guys are talking about and can't. What is a shrunken head? Googling just gives me pictures of severed human heads...

Well, it would. That's what they are...

If you're going to do it, do it right. Full size head and negative shim.
-
• #14146
Disagree. Shrunken heads with frozen sausage shims FTW.

Frozen sausages stuffed with tiny shrunken heads hammered into his own cavity?

+1 for hot sand
I like to stroke the faces with a stone while they shrink to keep the skin smooth.I've read that people like to stroke the faces with a stone while they shrink to keep the skin smooth

Screwfix are doing this drill kit on offer at the moment. Not brushless, but fine for general DIY.

Tap washer size insanity.
I know the washer size usually relates to the pipe diameter, but even knowing that this particular example doesn't make sense.
Looking for a replacement washer for a Lefroy Brooks bath taps (LB 1154 I think although they don't have ceramic cartridges so they may be older versions).
Current washer is roughly 27.6mm diameter and 4.3mm thick with a 7.2mm diameter hole in the middle. Measurements might not be accurate as they were done in haste with a digital caliper.
Are these just bog standard 3/4" tap washers? Everywhere has these as ~26mm or so.
