You'll have to wait to have that curiosity sated, the way the taps are arranged I'll need to take one of the sinks out to get the spout out. For now I've wrapped it in PTFE and gaffer tape which seems to be doing the job. No more swivelling though!

The access issue is just down to this installation but yeah, I will email the company and see what they say regarding the leak.

Tap update: took a basin out, managed to semi-dismantle tap only to find that the top part of the spout just unscrews from the base, no tools required. Destroyed o-ring clearly visible (with a load of furring). Now can't get tap base out to clean because however it splits is currently a mystery. There was once a grub screw but it's missing...
Edit: was happy to leave this for ages but MIL did something and it started leaking again.

What manual, oh wise one? Grub screw isn't necessary if it's glued together with limescale... Bodged it back together in the end by taking the o-ring from the aerator and using ptfe tape on those threads instead. No more leaks!

Have you worked speakers into each room? For that extra zing.

What's wrong with the old ones?

Nowhere near as fucked as ours, we're getting them replaced, will see if the quote from the chippy is itemised enough (there's some other work going on).

The doors nothing. The cement above is crumbling.

Artex. If I resolve to steam some off, how much pain am I signing up for?

A bit of 'not my' home diy at the parents house this weekend...
Double garage full of breeze blocks and a plain concrete floor. Tripple coated the walls with sandtex and did the floor with some textured semi gloss floor paint.
Forgot to do proper before photos so this is the best I've got...

Hallway nearly complete, just need to treat the tiles, add a threshold and reinstall the pendant light. No before pic but it was dirty artex and a manky brown carpet for way too long.

Late-r, the flat is a converted terrace, split in to 2 flats, so that's a stud wall.

Re grouting a bath and shower - got a quote of £750!!! what are ball park costs for such a job i was thinking in the range of £200 or am i way off ?
-
• #11298
Don't think I would voluntarily stand around in a cloud of mould-laden cement dust for a day for £200.
Also; how many square metres of tiles? -
• #11299
Fair enough, its just the surround of the bath and one corner where its gone abit not the whole bathroom. the rest of the walls are fine

Acrylic shower panels...
What wall prep do i need to do? Waterproofing etc?
I'm going to re-do the main bathroom in the next couple of months and am doing away with some shitty slate wall tiles.
Overall, the rest of the bathroom will be replastered (who ever did it last didn't manage to do any wall straight) with the walls painted white and the floor will be a karndean vinyl wood effect plank.
Tell me about it, but I'm beyond caring, I'm moving out in a few weeks (renting it to someone). Wish i'd removed the ped before the floor was put down, but in the rush didn't manage to. Only fixing the sink because it drips on the floor and will cause mould / rot again eventually.
Well, that's sort of why I was asking, to see if I was missing something. The holes in first photo are where it should be bolted I think, and the toilet cistern was held on in the same way, which makes me think this has been too. Unless there are some hidden bolts in the body of the sink.
Edit: never mind, it's off
