I know the board is wrong, one side needs to be reversed, but not sure it actually matters for gameplay

Blatant cross post from my own thread, but now I have a few more "successful" projects under my belt (read: they haven't gone straight to the tip), I'd like to start thinking about using some nicer wood on whatever I do next. Usually I'll get whatever pressure treated boards are going cheap at B&Q, Wickes or Fulham timber, especially for outdoor stuff. But I'd like to up the finish/complexity/wank factor a bit so looking for recommendations for decent timber suppliers who don't mind the small quantities of an annoying hobbyist.

Test build of a new 2.8m ball this week we’ve been playing with.
Real ship-in-a-bottle job as we only have enough space in our unit to assemble it in situ and lift it a few inches out the dolly for testing.
When rigged for jobs those seams are covered(Velcro mirrored belts).
This is probably more industrial than craftsman project I suppose but will snap a pic of the smaller project on my bench at the mo, it’s far more interesting.

Multicolour geometric on the bench. Only 600mm diameter ball but this will be somewhere in the region of 60-70hrs work as it’s all gonna be hand cut.

Not as fancy as @stevo_com chairs. But knocked this up this morning our of an old bed. It's my little ones birthday party today and we needed some more small person seating

That ball is insane!
Table update. There were no table related injuries, even with 3 kids and an adult sat on it. Party was not incident free, but i can't claim responsibility for any injuries.

It's not like me to get excited over a lump of old timber, but the thing is that this is REALLY old. It's Bog Oak which grew in a swamp, died upright and gently subsided into it, where it has been preserved anaerobically ever since. It has been carbon dated as 3000 years old. It pre-dates ancient Greece and Rome and was old before a carpenter was nailed to a cross.
Anyway, it was given to me by a bloke who deals in rare timber, so long as I make him a stick from it. It retails at £1200 for an 8' plank! There should be 2, possibly 3, stick handles in it. The first step is to plank it by hand, there isn't currently a single flat surface. I shall report back at intervals...

Made a travel games set. Chess is on the reverse of Backgammon. Room inside for a pack of cards too.
Doing it out of real wood would be better but this is what I had to hand.
