more making
batch of copper bowls. Three rounds of heating, quenching and then hammering to get them into shape, outsides polished on a wheel, insides have to be done by hand which takes waaay longer.

Anyone got any reasonable priced band saw recommendations? Shed use, mostly cutting out templates on upto 10cm thick wood.
Getting tired of manual sawing everything haha!

I started making these light fittings as a quick project a few years ago but it spiralled in to a big project that I over engineered and was going to do full time. But other things got in the way, it got over complicated, I got stressed out with it, lost my mojo and never came to fruition. But I will probably pick it up again in the future.
I designed some ceiling roses to go with these and that’s where it got complicated. I made the ceiling rose to be as minimal as possible and allow you to fit it with minimum effort, as the main shade is a bit tricky to fit as they’re all enclosed and fairly large.
The ceiling rose was very small, had everything inside and complied with regs, functioned in various ways but required so much work to make it look so minimal and retain function.
Having fitted a few without the ceiling rose it’s possible to do without it but the full set up looked better and had a suspension wire rather than relying on the power cable to hold it up.
I had a couple of prototype shades in a cupboard so made use of them and hung up in the communal hallway. Neighbour text me that evening saying he wants one for his flat so that was encouraging.
Anyway here’s some crappy phone pics

Thanks, any future ones i wouldn’t do in this colour, did one in light transparent blue that looked really good and was fairly neutral with the colour of the light

I went to a pottery class a while ago and really enjoyed it. Fast forward several years I acquired a kiln and had a go making some bonsai pots. I have had a few disasters and couldn’t really say I have any idea what I’m doing. But this is the first pot I’m remotely happy with.

I’m still making spoons.
Making eating spoons is much harder than cooking spoon!
I’ve got a few more for sale here.

Yeah, for an event a few weeks ago. It’s been and gone so guessing the nda is moot now lol
It is ace.
My mate who is a Blackbelt in Origami or something made me this when I moved to mcr. It still amazes me in its complexity.
(Dusty as my daughter nearly trashed it by accident so it is stored on a high shelf now)
