  • Hey, yes I can make you one for sure

Pm me and we can discuss details

  • Mooch, are you still able to make those railway-type signs like the one I got from you a couple of years ago?

  • Yes, am still making those, making a couple this week as it happens. What do you need?

  • Afraid i don't, The best person for courses is David A Smith in torquay (that's what i did...) but they are expensive, best investment i have ever made right enough.

  • Made up some chopping boards with leftover timber (american black walnut) from my recent desk build and some maple. I'm going to make some more and try and sell, maybe here or Etsy (never used yet)

What would be a reasonable price people would pay?

  • That one is green, not black

  • @pryally - those look really nice. If I was in the market for one, I'd buy. (Price depending of course)

Maybe have a look on Etsy / Folksy etc and see what other makers are charging?

  • I like these - and the attraction of a slimmer profile than the leather card holder I currently have (from on-here a while back) is significant, but how hard-wearing do you reckon the yurt canvas is likely to be?

  • these look good - I'm still using the chisel roll you made for me last year

  • thank you, I hadn't heard of Folksy before.

Made some reverse ones maple/walnut and also some from reclaimed lab bench tops (Burmese teak supposedly)

  • It's pretty tough, and waterproof. BUT, the hole size/placement might need amending - I originally made the pattern for leather.

I'll stick one in with your order and you can test it out if you like

  • Happily! Cheers

  • A bit more making

    Wallet, Dopp, Sign

  • Some more making.

Testing out canvas I was donated by making a bike rack bag. Still need to make a shoulder strap, but need to source some hardwear for that. Since its a test piece its a bit rough in places. That's my excuse anyway.

  • Cool, access will be okay while riding?

  • should be ok. i think! was quite full in those shots. i just need it to ferry some beer and sausges around.

  • Finally installed that ball I made for my mate.
Came out nice. Wire core, hand laid rope courtesy from my workshop neighbour.
The black glass barely shows up as anything on my crappy camera but looks pretty nifty when lit.

  • I've been doing quite a few kitchens lately, mostly IKEA stuff. Can anyone recommend me a decent template for drilling holes for handles? The IKEA plastic one has been ok, but might as well get something a bit nicer...

  • Use template to transfer outline and hole positions onto sheet stainless steel, buy a pillar drill, buy a laser cutter, buy a lathe to turn ergonomic handles for the stainless template, buy welding kit to attach handles.

After all, this is LFGSS and that would be the normal solution, followed by selling the tools on ebay at less than half price.

Alternatively, you could get a local machine shop to run one up from stainless or alloy.

  • That does sound very LFGSS, yeah. I was looking more along the line of ready-made templates/jigs, so might just leave the country side and see if I can find something at a hardware store somewhere

  • A video of my print process. Misses lots of elements (exposure of screens, artworking etc) but gives a good representation of the work that goes into an edition.

This is a 4 colour (two being 23ct and 18ct gold leaf gilding) edition of 25 Screen Prints.

Edit: file to big so here is an Instagram link:

Artwork and filming is by Archie Proudfoot, check him out. He is a great Craftsman.

  • Thats very cool. How does it work after you lay the gold leaf on and it looks kind of flat, then you add another layer to give the shadows/depth?
