  • the thing is we can still do all these joke t-shirts etc.. the channel one is just to get going and raise some funds

but no one will buy it!

  • because we are trying to raise money to put tourney's on this winter ste, we talked about all this in the meeting but you left early.

I've had a few people say the like the logo on the new facebook page, seriously either do something yourself or just let neil take care of it.

  • it was all outlined mate, if neil cant make this work ie, cant sell this merch and get stuff going then he'll just leave it to someone else, and i guarantee no one will be arsed to do anything.

  • why does it need to be ASAP? you said yourself no one has done anything for ages so why the sudden rush?

also, its not just about raising money it's about creating an identity that separates us from any thing else in the mcr bike world. We've always wanted mcr polo to stand alone, and we have loads of interest now. It's buzzing, so it's important to have a logo otherwise we just get lumped into the i bike mcr world and we have big confusing beginner sessions like last sunday.

I just think people aren't really hearing what neil's saying and just think he's trying to take over everything. He really isn't, how about we all get together before or after polo this thursday and talk about all this. I'm sure we can all agree on something.

    makes sense

  • what does everyone else think? So far just Ste and Woody are giving an opinion

  • Neil i dont think you are trying to take over and i appreciate all the things your doing to move us forward, the tshirt idea is great, its just the design that i think could be better. You said your self you just did it really quickly before the meeting.

Chan does having to leave the meeting early a month ago mean i have no say in the tshirts? i Had to get off early because people were late getting there!

  • No, of course not. I was just explaining to you why it needed to be done asap, since you missed that part of the meeting. Like i keep saying ste, i'm not arsed who designs the t-shirt. I'm cool if you do it.

  • at the risk of getting shot down in flames as usual, i agree with ste. although the chanel logo is ok, i think we could do (and have already done) better. ste's designs are awesome, look at the reaction they've already got on facebook! neil, i am MASSIVELY grateful for all the effort you've put in as is everyone else, but getting a load of t's printed up that may not sell might lose us money rather than making it. i have absolutely no talent for designing t's but would personally prefer to pay money for ste's. what if we get advanced orders for all designs? that way we can leave it to the buying public to decide and then do a bigger run of whichever is the most popular? makes sense...

  • there is loads of love for the 3 tie dye t-shirts on facebook. They would sell like hot cakes, how feasible is it to make them if we dye the t's ourselves?

perhaps the channel logo and ste's unicorn can work in harmony? ie. have both

  • the wizard , unicorn ones etc are a joke and realistically would be too much to print, doesn't mean we cant get tie dye shirts and print a simpler design on them or

im working on a couple at the moment and il get some rough ideas on here over the next few days
great if everyone could pitch in ideas too

  • im thinking somethin iconic form manchester (think along the lines of bands/architecture/food?) something famous from manc, add a polo vibe and the text

so are the going for the famous manchester unicorn then? lol

i'm crap at design mate, so i'll leave it to you guys. I agree on having it related to a famous manchester thing though.

Is no one feeling my joy division idea? That would be easy to print, just one colour

  • yeh i like the joy division one, only think im thinking is its been used quite alot

  • yeah, but that's why it could work. Especially on the global polo world. They would sell like

yap i agree, id defo have one
shall we put that one as current favorite?

  • Ok i think you all need to re-read what neils original brief is. He is suggesting making and selling tees to satisfy our home demand. This is reflected in the price (and that price makes me happy) and the concept that we will be making each one ourselves, by hand, us.
I am happy that you're motivated to move past that into the global demand, with interesting and (imo) complex designs but maybe we should focus on this first step.
I dont know what the screenprinting facilities are like and as we will be making them ourselves i think we should focus , as neil says

We will start slow initially (to build this relationship) and print off a couple of single colour artworks onto either black or white shirts/bags.

By all means lets hash out a new logo and agree on a Time Catcha

in the meanwhile i volunteer for learning to screenprint, and put myself down for 1 extra small time cat shirt & 2 medium logo shirts with timecat on the sleeve

  • the joy division style one is 1 colour

also id rather pay more and have a nice tshirt than one i wouldn't wear

fair enough. good point well made, makes sense to start out small i'll take a medium timecat T.

  • great tutorial here...

    - How to: Screen Print a Tshirt[/ame]

  • Screenprinting is easy, these people just happen to have the equipment that we don't. We could buy the equipment for 1 colour screenprints and three different inks and screens for about £70, but I think it is probably easier to do it with these artist guys who know more about what they are doing.
I don't reall yunderstand your point Paul, if we can get a nicer desing that we all agree on desinged before we go to these people why wouldn't we do that, why make up shirts that half of us might not want?
    I'm backing the Manchester unicorn!

  • watch that tutorial, we can do our own for basically free, thats what Till did with the Tough Shit ones

  • No till andTough Shit hired a screenprintign studio for like £20 a night and made loads when they were there, which is effectivly what we would be doing. It is a lot easier with professional screenprinting vices and shit

  • Neil do you not have anything to say to this? you keep reading the page then leaving with out commenting

  • ok my design complete.
    1 & 2 colour
