OP updated.
This is once in a lifetime, so i'm going to do it properly :)
I've tried to be quite careful about timings so the mountain passes will be open, and should miss the wet seasons in Africa, Central America, India, and the majority of SE Asia.
sep to dec Dushanbe to Goa. Are you planning on going the KKH way? Surely the passes will be closed by then?

The waypoints are just an estimate and i'll probably tweak it a little... intending on crossing the Pamirs and KKH late Aug - early Oct, so should be fine.

I too would love to do this but it's one of those things that you can't really do when you're in a long-term relationship (I'd prefer to do it in one go as a fundraiser).

Can't wait to see how this pans out. I'd love to join you for some of the way if I've got the money and you could do with some company.

So, it's not round the world but this summer I'm going to cycle across Europe. I've been in London 6 years and I've got itchy feet and legs that need stretching.
My current plan (lose as it is atm) is to get the ferry to Dunkerque then cycle up to Brussels and Amsterdam (mainly to visit friends). From the Dam I'll probably train to Munich to catch up with another friend before getting on the Danube in Passau. (So 2-3 weeks catching up with friends and seeing a few cool things in Western Europe).
The Danube bit should take about 5 weeks. It's a week to Vienna, then a week to Budapest, then 3 to the Black sea where I plan on being by the end of September.
Leaving 2nd week of August. Company for the entire thing, or legs of the trip is more than welcome!
Also think as a practice I might get the Euro * to Marseille end of June and do some cycling round Aix en Provence with an emphasis on wine and cheese and southern French sun.
