Ortleib do a pannier/back pack thing. The Vario. No experience, but more likely to be in stock.

Okay I've looked at everything and none of them really satisfy my off bike needs.
What about a high quality collapsible basket for the rear rack? Anybody familiar with anything like that?
that way I can just throw whatever bag I'm already carrying around in there.

I seem to have a bit of a problem with my frame bag (Topeak Midloader Size Large) bulging out. When I put more in it than just a tool and tube it bulges and my legs contact it with every pedal stroke which does annoy me after a few kms. So, apart from using bags in different places, what could be done about this?
I would like to avoid sewing through the fabric as its water-repellent. For cross-stabilisation fabric therefore it seems that i can only add iron-on things on the inside.
Or did anyone have such experiences and has found ways to resolve the frame bag bulging out? :) Thanks in advance -

I want to grab a Nitto M12 front rack, but the questions section of SJS suggest it is designed for 60mm distance between canti studs, and mine are 80mm apart. Is the Nitto specifically designed for older canti brakes which were closer together? Or are the arms bendable to a modern distance?

It’s pretty flexible.

Thanks, think I'll give it a shot.

I'm trying to fit a rack to my partner's Pinnacle Arkose. I bought the disc brake version of the Topeak Super Tourist DX, but the mounts seem to be too close together to fit the frame. Should I have got the non-disc version?

If the disc brakes are mounted on the chainstay rather than the seatstay, which looks like the case in your photo, the non-disc version might clear everything with no problem, but it might have the same overall spacing anyway. You could probably just pull them apart ("cold set them") enough to fit over the mounts, if it doesn't start to distort the rack too much?

Thanks. I think I’m going to send it back to Wiggle and go to an actual bike shop to see if I can find something that fits without having to bend it.

Anyone know anything about Tortec racks? Looking for something to attached tent, etc. to one or both of 0ur bikes (700C, 650B wheels depending on which bike)

Anyone got some of these kicking about to spare?

Used a ultra lite tortec rear rack for years. Was perfectly fine.
However now I like to use the 'two story' tubus rack as it allows tent (sleeping mat in my case) and panniers without sharing the same bar for pannier clips.

Cheers. I don't own panniers any more so that's not likely an issue (yet).
This looks neat too - fits different hub widths and wheel sizes so would be useful for switching bikes:

I've got one; it was cheap, and it's lasted fine for a couple of years of commuting duty. From what I can tell they're decent bang/buck; if you want ultimate durability, then Tubus is the way to go.

Ta. Will probably grab mine back off mate for this weekend, then consider what we're going to do about luggage going forward. Rack without panniers seems a sturdy way to get bulkier stuff on board and survive off-road but not gnarly riding.

I'm looking for a handlebar bag in cylindric shape. So far I've found the Restrap Canister Bag and the Wizard Works Lil Presto!. Not a big fan of Restrap and the Wizard Works one is out of stock.
Is there anything similar out there?

Individual makers as well, such as the forum's very own @user71349 (and others I think) - see [https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/331860/?offset=225#comment15399906] for more

The Nitto simple to setup, 10cm from canti studs to where the fork is drilled was a good fit, and the support struts bent out easily to the wider 8cm distance. Now I need to work out what bag to go for, porteur style or reversed saddlebag...

Thats beautiful and fits my new frame perfectly. What a shame :o
