You could just use the drive side strut in it's own, unless you're putting a huge load in the panniers it won't make a huge difference to the strength or stability!
Had a brainwave and sorted this with a couple of p-clips from SJS!

Sorted. And your second pic makes it clear that my suggestion was a non-starter,

Late to the party but if for some reason the p-clips don't workout, have used these seatpost clamps with sucess..

Thanks, that looks like it would work if I turned the rack stays upside down. P-clips were only £3.99 though and seem pretty rock solid.

The magnets aren’t that strong, they are just used to locate the bag. There’s a mechanical latch which actually does most of the holding. They’re Fidlock attachments, as used on water bottles and helmet straps. And most hard drives (certainly not the one in your phone) these days aren’t optical, so a magnet won’t erase them anyway.

Any cheap bar bag supports out there? £50 seems excessive for a few lengths of bent tubing.

What are my options for a rear pannier extension or a front pannier rack on a suspension fork?
Have just bought a haibike for kid carrying duties but the rack presently only takes the child seat. I tried to bodge it and hang a couple of smaller bags on the lower strut but the child seat leg mounts get in the way.
Short of shaving a few inches of the kids' legs - are there any extenders you can get that aren't from people like Hollandbike - who no longer ship to the uk?

What’s a good basket bag for a Wald 139?
Something waterproof and not as pricey as wizard works.
Thanks -

I've been using my larger carradice in my wald and am really pleased.

Just a quick PSA that the overpriced Specialized/Fjällräven Coolcave rigid panniers are now a slightly less pricey £40. I've ordered one and will report back.

First impressions are good! Well made, quieter than I thought it would be and loads nicer to just drop stuff in rather than wrestle trying to squeeze things into a regular pannier.

Tempted by one of these for shopping. Does the cargo net come with it?
-
• #1215
Cargo net does, there's a very expensive waterproof lid but I didn't get that.

They look quite neat, nice solid attachment?
Are you still in petersfield, how's riding a cargo bike around the area?
-
• #1218
Yeah it's klickfix so different to Ortlieb so as good.
Still in Petersfield, it's fine heading East or West but just got the be aware of the hills when planning on venturing North or South.

Any thoughts on the suitability of something like this to hold a regular rucksack? Bag will be secured with bungee cords ofc. Will be attached to a brooks c15 carved. Open to ideas for alternatives :)

Why don't you buy an actual Carradice bag and forego the rucksack altogether? With a SQR bloc it's easy to remove.

Also bungee cords are death.
-
• #1222
It’s more of a elastic cargo net than bungee cords, and it has clips on the end so I’m not worried about that going anywhere :) and I need to be able to take the bag of my bike and comfortably carry it around all day so a dedicated saddlebag would be no good.

with this:

is much better.i personally use the quick release one with the swift zeigeist bag and it's flawless. Everything you need other than the support struts can be found here
you could probably get away with other pedestrian duffels, but a traditional rucksack with shoulder straps seems unlikely make you happy as it is likely to flop around and have dangly bits everywhere. This one is probably what i would pick if i was trying to get off-bike friendly. because it has a rigid HDPE liner.

Ideally I would prefer a saddle bag like that, but unfortunately it isn’t feasible :/, but for use with a backpack the ‘classic’ carradice support seemed better because of the portion above the saddle for straps to attach to to keep my rucksack in place.
I have one if you want to test ride?
