People are still saying this about Evans? Sometimes this sport's fans deserve every 'interesting' cheat and scumbag they get.

• #828
This apparently is an unphotoshopped photo of george hicapie's leg
-
• #829
If you only had one leg and had been a pro cyclist for years you would have varicose veins too.

People are still saying this about Evans?
+1 - he's been one of the most exciting to watch since winning the WCs.

anyone seen this yet?
YouTube - Tour de France 2011 Stage 7 Mark Cavendish interview

So will Brad have a pop at the Vuelta instead now?
-
• #833
Ha, Wiggins and his drug euphoria interview.
Blistering finish.

So will Brad have a pop at the Vuelta instead now?
he'll do whatever Sutton/Brailsford tell him to do.
-
• #835
Horner in a bad way at the finish...
"did I crash?" "did I finish?"

• #836
^ Man, that is horrific... :[

Concussion can have very odd side effects. A friend of mine crashed really badly on the way to work this year and he carried on cycling to work and sat at his desk with a broken collar bone! They took him to hospital and he was unable to remember anything that happened 6 weeks prior to the crash. It all came back eventually apart from what happened that morning.
Very disappointing for Wiggins today and Team Sky. Have been trying to catch the highlights everyday after work and was upset to see what happened

the more I think about it the more I think Bruyneel is a first class asshole for letting him continue on and finish the stage in that state
-
• #839
He was in no worse a state than most people leaving forum drinks.

Is it not ok to like Cavendish? I don't understand. Granted, I'm judging him against football players, but he's not that bad.
-
• #841
No, I like him a lot. Judge him against Tim Henman and he's even better. His reaction to Wiggins' crash today I think showed him to be a genuine and likable person. His team-mates, who know him the best, all speak highly of him and if he's not modest neither is he falsely modest. He's the best sprinter in the world, probably going to end up the best sprinter of all time, so a little self-confidence isn't surprising.

^this.

Then again I really like Cadel.

• #844
ah, good, thought I was seeing something that wasn't there.

What's happened to Voight this year? I think I have hardly heard his name mentioned by the commentators.

I like cav. He seems pretty honest, bit full of himself but with some justification.
I'm rooting for A Schleck now. Always the bridesmaid etc...

+1
whilst cav doesn't have the strength of hushovd or gilbert to overhaul on the hills and a knack for getting intermediate points. cav still has bags of talent and a team that gave 150% pulling the chasing group along today.
consider also that we hear cav just after the stage finish when feelings are raw / adrenalin is high. he does talk bollocks somtimes but he is a class sprinter among greats. on flat stages rival teams need ever trick in the book to unhinge the HTC train, and upset their gameplan.
garmin-cervelo and omega-pharma-lotto look well drilled on this tour, but it is HTC that set the standard for the sprint wins, I reckon. if cav makes it to paris he will be in the mix again.

Finished work at nine, time-trialled home and watched the stage.
Fuck a doodle doo.
Wiggo! No!
But on reflection, the dynamic of Team Sky might flourish.
EBH has potential. A bit of nurturing and he might compete in the mountains.
Swifty is actually a pretty useful climber - little and punchy. A climber who can sprint, a sprinter who can climb... future GC?
Geraint Thomas will now have to start thinking for himself. He's got the engine, but not the confidence. Maybe this will be the making of him.
There is no such thing as defeat, only a fresh opportunity.
Snack - Cashew nuts and pinot grigio.

sutton and brailsford will have a plan.. sky look in good shape and have nothing to lose.
i feel for wiggins though he was well placed just before the proper hill stages.
I don't deny his achievements. It's more the dullness of his racing - he never seems to attack or make any significant moves.
That's all.
And his voice.
