so call me thick, what happens if evans for whatever reason doesnt finish tomorrow. is it that done and dusted? what happens if the shlecks get a pain train going to the finish? whats stopping them. did today 100% decide it and tomorrow stage is only there to sort out the green jersey?
If Evans does not finish tomorrow then he is not going to win the Tour.
If LE-O-PARD team try to do something than BMC will respond, but it is very unlikely as it will look desperate and to take 2.30 min on tomorrow stage is not going to happen. Also HTC and Moviestar will be all over tomorrow stage for green jersey. -

Well done you squeaky-voiced arse-chinned champ. Never used to like Cuddles that much but he's definitely gone up in my estimation.

Aha...just a bit among from you. Cc

Why are you all saying that Cadel is ugly. He is much better looking than most of you guys. And I know a lot of you.
-
• #3632
I forgot to add a ;) for the easily offended ones.
-
• #3633
Tour winner/part-time model he isn't... amazing cyclist? Yes.
I'm very happy Evans finally gets the tour. Andy should have broken from Cadel yesterday on the steepest gradients of alpe d'huez, that was his best chance.

Or just learn to TT (better).

I seem to remember, the GC placings are decided when the first bike goes onto the Champs E'lysee. So after that, its all about the stage win, but the GC won't change. This was to avoid problems with wet cobbles. So its a promenade for the top guys. Evans is guaranteed the win.

I just read a nice quote
"IF CADEL Evans can time trial his way to the yellow jersey in Grenoble tonight he will have finished a job that Phil Anderson started 30 years ago."
Well done to OZ!

cadel deserves that win - he showed his class and grit churning up the glabier the other day after andy and put in a top tt today -
anyone seen a clip of him putting the yellow jersey on today? -
• #3638
I remember Phil Anderson decisively winning US crits by lapping the field 2 or 3 times.
-
• #3639
Wow, sounds like it was another exciting stage today.
I'm so glad that cuddles has taken the yellow away from the chemical brothers.
-
• #3640
haha, I've not heard them called that.

I'm really happy for Cadel, the best man won. ( although clearly if Contador hadn't ridden and won the giro, he'd have taken it.)
I used to like Andy Schleck, but this tour the pair of them really got on my tits. Pair of pansies, hiding behind each other to try to win - well, it didn't work, did it. Grow up, and then you might stand a chance against the men.
really curius to know how wiggins would have done in the end. I think IF he'd stayed with them in the mountains, then he'd have been second, potentially - but i do think Cadel is now a stronger climber than Wigg.

Not that it will happen but would Andy stand a better chance being in a different team to Frank? No more looking around for each other, just attacking and building a lead throughout the race.
Andys attack on the Izoard was fantastic but it was a move born of desperation - he knew he was fucked without 3 or more minutes in hand for the TT. If he had attacked more in the Pyrenees then he may have had enough. And god damn it he is a whiney little prick

Cant believe I read the results on here, while on a train, because I was listening to a paper about green politics in Rousseau's writings on Corsica.
was a great tour regardless, even if Will doesn't approve of most people enjoying it.

Hooray for bumface! He's been due that victory for a few years now. Genuinely happy for him.
No sympathy for the feckless Shlecks. Too little too late as usual from them, really poor. Shleck the younger seems to have it but doesn't want to use it. He needs to do it on the hills because he cant do it in the TT's. I refer you to this;

Well done to OZ!
what's australia got to do with it? being australian hasn't made him win the tour, being an elite athlete and a damn good bike rider plus riding the pro tour (that's very euro focused in location and personnel) has.
well done Cadel. he didn't panic and rode a canny race.
he's still a whiny freak but gets 10/10 for beating the boring ass watchers. -

Can't write the right thing without someone taking it the wrong way... What's wrong with writing 'Well done to OZ'. It was meant as a good will, a compliment to Australia's first Tour De France winner... I even placed a thread about Phil Anderson being the first non European to wear the yellow jersey... suppose you are going to find something wrong with that...
It's like saying to all Australian people, forget about Cadel Evans... he's nothing to do with your country...

even if you tried to put time into anyone , it's a flat stage so virtually impossible to escape and make serious time. Plus HTC and all the sprint teams would lead the chase down to get their sprinters in for a stage win. Not going to happen.
