  • Roy won most aggressive rider.

Small comfort, but there you go...

  • AYYYYYEEEEEEEEE!!!! I'M CUMMMMING!!!!

Has he been branded by "The Claw"?

  • He's on 'The List"

  • Poor, poor man.

  • You're on 'The List'

  • Gilbert rode into ninth place today.

I've a strange feeling he could stay in the top ten, if he keeps up this incredibleperformance.

  • But Roy is also typical of the way French teams operate in the Tour; desperate to find a hero that the public will cheer for even if they win nothing. The attacks are, in a good way, a publicity stunt. For near on 20 years this was the best that clean French riders could hope for but now that things have changed maybe we will start to see greater ambition and greater cunning from them. Though probably not.
It's also worth saying that these riders - Roy, Hoogerland etc - are not just riding for glory. They stand to double their annual salary at the post-tour criteriums where the plucky losers, the crash victims and other minor riders with a story to tell, are all part of the show.

Your jaded cynicism depresses me will.

Is there no sunshine in your life?

    Don't you believe in Santa?

Who came for your milk teeth when you left them under your pillow when you were a kid?
Uncle Fisty and his claw hammer?

  • He's on 'The List"

    What list?

  • they showed tomorrow's route at the end on itv4. fuck me that finish looks like a killer. tomorrow's a stage where one GC contender could finish a few minutes ahead of another

  • who are the best riders on descents?

    what's the decisive factor weight/technique/guts?

Weight helps a bit but not so much as it could win on a descent alone. Technique is fairly important, as is experience, but the key factor is nerve. Only solid steel nerve will let you get into zones where you don't have any real control and you have to hope there are no killer road defects, no stupid spectators and that the run out really is long enough for you to regain control when you really need to.

  • Weight helps.

That's why me and thee descend like demons, matey!

  • Apparently Phil described Lourdes as "a Mecca for Catholics" #fail

  • He did indeed.

  • Big day today. "How many mountains?!"

How high up the order does Gilbo have to finish before people get suspicious?

  • I have a wedding to attend today. Much cunning and guile will be required to maximise tour intake.

  • An interview from yesterday where Thor admits that he has more or less given up beating Cav on flat sprints and has therefore been training for an advantage in hilly terrains.

Are you calling me a fat bastard?

Because if you are, I seem to remember we agreed not to do that anymore you lardy goat botherer.

  • Apparently Phil described Lourdes as "a Mecca for Catholics" #fail

This is right, no? It is a Catholic equivalent of Mecca?

(although they do spout some right garbage as well)

  • The Eiffel Tower is a bit like Big Ben without the clock on it

  • Place de la Bastille = concourse out the front of Stratford station

  • This is right, no? It is a Catholic equivalent of Mecca?

Jerusalem is a Mecca for the Catholics, if you insist on following such muddled comparisons!

Lourdes, like hundreds of other religious sites, is a place where millions of desperate people toddle off to each year in the hope that having a wash in special water will make their leg grow back, or cure cancer, or heal their relatives, just because a bunch of kids claim to have seen Jesus' mam in a cave while they were playing out.

My nan used to go every year.

She wasn't sick, but the site of so many unhealthy people made her feel superior.
